I know nothing about cars!! I just bought my 4runner and noticed there's two blinking lights on my dash. It looks like it has something to do with the the switch that says h4-h2. My car didn't come with a manual! I've tried eerything on the switch. Can this harm my new car? Help me...I'm just a girl:)
The lights are the h4 or h2 gears used for 4x4
The lights will not stop blinking until engaged. I would try the H2 - H4 move several times leaving it for awhile under varying speeds etc until the lights quit blinking. Assuming that you are finally able to get it engaged, do this many times until it engages quicker. Then start working with center diff and L4 per manual. If you can't get the lights to stop blinking you have a problem. There are some links on here with photos of the actuator box - you can "tap" on it with truck parked and the switch turned to H4 and see if it will engage. Also try reversing in a straight line..if this fails, have the actuator tested or replaced, or worst case, needs a new transfer case...cheers
Go back to the dealer and get the user manual and the service and warranty book ( new car)
or is it an old car that is new to you
in which sweet talk a dealer salesman to show you what operates what

I will be glad toassist you.
DTC 52 on a 93 Corolla indicates a problem with the "Knock Sensor" or its circuitry. This sensor is basically a piezoelectric crystal inside a metal housing, that detects "knock" or "predetonation" in the engine, and transmits that info re the "knock" back to the ECU. Most likely, replacement of the sensor, or a repair of the wiring harness will cure your problem, if you engine is running fine, and not making any strange sounds. I hope this answers your question. If you have any others, please feel free to comment back to me. Have agreat day!

That icon is the low tire pressure light.
What you need to do is inflate your SPARE tire to the proper specs. The system check all 5 tires.

to reset the anti-theft, put key in ignition, turn to on but do not start, you must leave in ON position for exactly 10 minutes, once the light shuts off, immediately start car.

Well Jennifer, it sounds like you've done all the things that I'd have done. Try for a bad ground next. Do the lights in the dash cluster work? They're wired together with the tail-lights (so that you know if the rears go out). There should be a ground wire somewhere connecting the body to the engine or chassis.Look around the rear of the engine bay. Good Luck.

My right side of this center dash window light that displays the temp.reading also went out on my 2003 4Runner. The letters & number were readable, but the back light was out to see everything at night. My mechanic said the bulb was out and he had to pull the section off surrounding the whole center dash portion that encompasses the radio, mileage, a/c & radio section. I left it up to them to do, since they said it would take an hour. Now the whole section lights w/o any problems.
