The lights are the h4 or h2 gears used for 4x4
The lights will not stop blinking until engaged. I would try the H2 - H4 move several times leaving it for awhile under varying speeds etc until the lights quit blinking. Assuming that you are finally able to get it engaged, do this many times until it engages quicker. Then start working with center diff and L4 per manual. If you can't get the lights to stop blinking you have a problem. There are some links on here with photos of the actuator box - you can "tap" on it with truck parked and the switch turned to H4 and see if it will engage. Also try reversing in a straight line..if this fails, have the actuator tested or replaced, or worst case, needs a new transfer case...cheers

SOURCE: electronic control module: error in code 52

I will be glad toassist you.

DTC 52 on a 93 Corolla indicates a problem with the "Knock Sensor" or its circuitry. This sensor is basically a piezoelectric crystal inside a metal housing, that detects "knock" or "predetonation" in the engine, and transmits that info re the "knock" back to the ECU. Most likely, replacement of the sensor, or a repair of the wiring harness will cure your problem, if you engine is running fine, and not making any strange sounds. I hope this answers your question. If you have any others, please feel free to comment back to me. Have agreat day!

That icon is the low tire pressure light.
What you need to do is inflate your SPARE tire to the proper specs. The system check all 5 tires.

SOURCE: 1994 Camry - Brake Lights Work, Tail Lights Wont

Well Jennifer, it sounds like you've done all the things that I'd have done. Try for a bad ground next. Do the lights in the dash cluster work? They're wired together with the tail-lights (so that you know if the rears go out). There should be a ground wire somewhere connecting the body to the engine or chassis.Look around the rear of the engine bay. Good Luck.

SOURCE: 2003 Toyota 4runner: Half our dash does not light

My right side of this center dash window light that displays the temp.reading also went out on my 2003 4Runner. The letters & number were readable, but the back light was out to see everything at night. My mechanic said the bulb was out and he had to pull the section off surrounding the whole center dash portion that encompasses the radio, mileage, a/c & radio section. I left it up to them to do, since they said it would take an hour. Now the whole section lights w/o any problems.

The "MAINTANENCE" light on the dash is nothing more than a timer of sorts, every 5000 miles to be precise. Whenever you bring your Toyota in for a service, one of the last things they do is reset the MAINT light. There's a sequence to doing this yourself:

With the car key on ACC, set your odometer on mileage(not trip a or b) then turn ket off. then hold they button that switchs from odo and trip, then turn the key back to acc. while you are holding it down you will notice the maintenance light blink and go out. and then you are done.

I have a 1987 toyota 4runner and no running lights or dash lights . The tail light fuse is ok but still no dash lights or running tail lights break lights light up fine.

THE DASH LIGHTS ARE USUALLY CONTROLLED BY A SMALL THUMB WHEEL NEAR THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH ON THE DASH. THAT IS A RHEOSTAT, THAT MAKES THE DASH LIGHTS BRIGHT & DIM. REPLACE OR BYPASS IT.

I have no dash lights on my 4runner and cant find any burnt out fuses. Is it likely that the light itself is burnt out?

There are several bulbs in the dash that come on with the headlight switch so it is unlikely that they all burnt out at the same time.I would check the instrument light dimmer switch for power in and out of it before blameing dash bulbs. You should check the plug to the light switch to check for power out of it and to look for burnt wire ends.
