SOURCE: I can't find the dipstick to check transmission fluid level on my 2001 Hyundai/Accent 5-speed
It most likely is a sealed transmission.. Meaning there is no dipstick to check the fluid inside. A Mechanic can check it if needed there is a plug I believe you can remove to check the level kinda like how you check a diff fluid level but not 100% sure.
SOURCE: transmission fluid
This Vechile takes Hyundai ATF SP-II M Transmission fluid, any other type of fluid can cause issues with the trans.
SOURCE: 2001 Hyundai Accent - Automatic Trasmission fluid
It is a proprietary Hyundai transmission fluid. Don't use anything other than the Hyundai stuff. This fluid has superb lubrication properties, but it breaks down much quicker than the specified 30,000 mile fluid change intervals. I highly recommend having both the fluid and filter changed once a year or once every 15,000 to 20,000 miles.
SOURCE: I would like to know if it is practical to change
Yes. It is very practical to change the fluid around every 30,000 miles.
