Erratic shifting, abs light comes on shortly after starting to drive, air bag light on at all times. New abs sensors, new speed sensor only 4000 miles on rebuilt trans. Feels like a slip between 1st & 2nd, rpms waivering at 65 - 70 mph feels like it's coming in & out of overdrive somewhere between overdrive & neural?

the computer is in relearn mode could take up to 20 miles
SOURCE: 99 GMC K 1500 Transmission burning fluid and comeing out blow-by
The fluid boiling over is caused by the slippage heating up the fluid, your clutch pack is worn out, you will need an overhaul.
SOURCE: The transmission changes hard going from 1st to 2nd.

Try changing the fuel filter. I think it's starving for gas and the transmission can't decide what to do.

The shift down linkage on the carburetor below the gas pedal cable might need to be adjusted to increase the hydraulic pressure on the internal clutch plates in the transmission it shows you how to do that in a car manual.
Whenever
this warning light or any other stays on in the dash it is indicating
that the systems control module (or the system sensor in the case of
lights like low oil pressure, door open indicators etc.) has detected
a fault, it then disables the system (this applies to ABS,TCS, TCM,
SRS and BCM faults and others) as long as the light is on. You must
now have the dealer hook up a special electronic diagnostic tool and
"scan" the system for the fault code that is stored for the
problem(s)
Legend of Abbreviations. ABS Antilock brake system.TCS Traction control system, TCM Transmission control module, SRS Supplemental restraint system, BCM Body control module
