Fog lights will not turn off

fog lights have to be wire in correctly to be compliant with the high way code of regulations for lights

they should be wired through an independent switch, through a relay connected to the high beams relay so that when high beam is selected they are turned off

The law prohibits the use of fog lights in any condition except fog so to use them as extra lights is illegal and costs a big fine

TO REMOVE GRILLE FROM BEHIND THE BUMPER COVER RELEASE PLASTIC CLIPS AND DETACH THE GRILLE. IF YOU HAVE FOG LIGHTS DISCONNECT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS FROM THE FOG LIGHTS AND REMOVE THE FOG LAMP MOUNTING SCREWS BEFORE DETACHING THE GRILLE.WHEN YOU INSTALL GRILLE PLACE GRILLE IN POSITION AND SEAT THE CLIPS INTO HOLES IN THE BUMPER COVER. IF YOU HAVE FOG LAMPS INSTALL GRILLE IN POSITION THE INSTALL FOG LAMPS MOUNTING SCREWS BACK IN PLACE TO HOLD GRILLE IN POSITION.

With the switch in sidelight or dip

position, pull the switch to its first

position to turn on the front fog lights.

Pushing the switch in or turning it to OFF
or AUTO will turn off the front fog lights (this is for the front)

With the switch in any position except

OFF or AUTO, pull the switch to its

second position to turn on the rear fog

lights. This will also turn on the front fog

lights unless main beam is selected.

Pushing the switch in or turning it to OFF
or AUTO will turn off the rear fog lights (this is for the rear)

A. OFF.

B. Side (parking) lights.

C. Headlights.

D. Auto.

E. Front fog lights.
F. Rear fog lights.

It is the round knob nest to the steering colume

Test the switch with a test light. Disconnect the wire to fog light and put test light on it and see if it lights up.
Also test the hot positive wire going to switch. If it doesn't lite here, then the fuse may be bad or wire to the power source is broke or disconnected.
Do the same for the switch.
You can test power to the lights themselves with a test light or voltmeter.

1. Remove the fog light mounting screw.
2. Disconnect the connector from the fog light.
3. Turn the socket about 45° counterclockwise and remove it from the housing.
4. Remove the bulb from the socket.

To Install:

1. Install the bulb in the socket without touching the glass with bare hands.
2. Turn the socket about 45° clockwise to install it.
3. Connect the connector to the fog light.
4. Install the fog light mounting screw.

to turn on the fog lights, its the same switch that you use to turn on your head lights. Turn the dial to the right to turn on your head lights and then pull it towards you. thats how you turn your fog lights on

I have a simular problem. Only mine does not some on. I tried to replace the turn signal switch assembly with a used one. The replacement work ok on the fog lights but the rest was bad. As near as I can figure it, the switch assemble is not well made and had many ways to go bad. Either replace the whole assemble or wire in a bipass switch. I am going to go with a bipass switch. I don't trust the new jeep products.

just remove the wires going to the fog light bulbs. near the front of the car. dont forget to tape them

Or you could just pull out the relay under the hood, it's marked fog lights, pull the relay out. If your hi beam indicator is flashing with your fog lights on them selves. Could be the multi function switch. That controls turn signals, headlights, fog, I have seen many of those go bad.
