1991 lex ls400 cannot shift into ''D'' or ''P'' after small accid

1991 lexus ls400. Aftyer small front end accident, the car cannot shift into Park or Drive. The indicator says ''P'' while the cars gear shift is in Neutral. Cannot put the car into drive. The airbags did not deploy (I assume they are there), but I am wondering if there is a sensor or reset that needs to be replaced or pushed???? Any information will be helpful,
Thank you Mike

Sounds like you have bent something underneath or broke a support bracket

Having problems with shift button on 91 Lexus LS400 it gets stuck on Park. I press on break no response.

Could be a bad brake light switch or the solenoid itself or wiring. See if brake lights work. If they don't then check brake light fuse, if thats ok then check at the brake switch for power or jump the two wire plug lights should light and shifter work unless solenoid bad. Good luck

I think it will be about 8L the most,u don't need to put transmission oil to torque converter,u can fill it up after the transmission in ,run the vehicle in park or neutral at operation temperature to check the level

1994 Lexus ls400 replaced powersteering pump and won't shift out of park, no instrument lights no power windows, no power door locks, no power trunk release

Sounds like a major fuse blown.
Any wiring disconnected or stripped near the pump ?
Have you checked the major fuses around the battery and underhood fuse box ?

How do i get to bleed my radiator, lexus ls400

you can do it by running engine with radiator cap off until all air is out, some cars require front end to be lifted to make radiator higher then the engine so air can flow up to the top.

My Lexus LS400 was running perfect - no issues whatsoever. Today it won't start. Have tried jumping it but no luck. It acts like it is about to start but won't.

sounds like an engine immobilizer problem. close all doors, hood & trunk completely. lock and unlock the car three times with remote, then put key in door lock and lock & unlock three times.
did you accidently try to start with wrong key?

R & R 1991 Lexus Ls400 Gear shift knob

slide the lower part of shifter handle down and you will find two screws, but there is 2 wires coming in from center console for overdrive button.you have to remove the center console cover and remove the 2 wires from connector and then pull up threw handle.when you go back together you will have to guide them back threw the handle.
