2001 Chevy Venture Minivan. It ran great, and got parked a few months. Now it will start, but die after a couple of seconds. It has the Pass Key 3 system. How can I fix this? Please help, thanks.

I have a 2001 pontiac montana we just had to jump it the gauges were bouncing all over the place and then once it was jumped the security light and the message center came on any idea??

have battery and charging system checked

My message center light keeps popping on. N its causing my lights to Dem out and I have to keep getting jumps.....just brought a new battery n alt is good....please help

2000 chevy venture won't crank with key

The pk3 system has a sensor ring around the lock cylinder these go bad a relearn will not fix this because no security code is being sent to the pass key module.

2001 Chevy venture will not start. We had an inspection done yesterday, oil change & a power steering line replaced As well. Looks like they had moved the wiring harness & also taped it when this...

-Battery is full...? If so check for corosion battery cable.
And make sure good connector (Tight)
-If all are good and just Click but can't turn. >>> Need new starter.

2001 Chevy venture won't start

Do you have the resistor pellet in your key? The one with the short wire on each side of the key shank? If yes, I can provide a bypass procedure. It involves using an ohmmeter to measure the key resistance and making a small resistor set to simulate the key. You will also need a soldering iron and a package of resistors you can buy from radio shack. Let me know if you want the details.

I have a 2001 Chevy Venture, it wont start unless I jump start it and it stays running until I shut it off and will not start right back up. Is this the battery or alternator?

I'd lean toward the alternator and or a loose connection between the battery alternator and starter motor.

2000 chevy venture doesnt start

check to make sure the security light is not on if it is the van will have spark but no injecter pulse the best way to solve this issue is to have the original igniton key and put it in the igniton in the run position and leave it on for 10 minutes then the light will flash then try to start the van

Hi there,
Most commonly with these cars the security system will do this if the battery is "drained" while trying to start the car. ie: a low battery that is too weak to turn the engine over. Usualy the power options & accesories will not work if this is happening.
To fix it you will need to ensure the battery is charged, you then disconnect the battery negative cable for about 1 minute with the key out of the ignition. reconnect the battery cable & start the car normally. Everything should be back to normal.

I had same problem,,,I put the key in like i was about to start but didnt try it i just let it stay in that mode for about 15-20 minute and brought a new battery no problem every since January 2009
