if it is a column shift try with your left hand reaching over the sterring wheel and pulling back or up to park position a little higher and with your right hand turning the key. don't know for sure but give it a shot
Had the same problem, replaced the ambient air temp sensor in front of the radiator. Cost is like 10-15 bucks. Don't worry if temp doesn't change right away. Took me about 5 miles and then it worked great.
You have to replace the ignition system, all the 99's came with an anti theft unit built in. The ignition is built into the system, so that could be the reason why.
you have to pull the radiator to get the alternator out. had to do this couple months ago. then after you get it unbolted you need to slide it past exhaust and out toward the drivers side of car. pulling radiator was rediculous, but the only way!!!! hope that helps
The ambient temperature sensor going bad causes this exact problem. I've replaced many of them because when they show outside temp as being below 60 degrees, the A/C control module will shut the compressor off.
I pulled and reset several fuses on the fuse panel. It is now working properly. Tom
