it's possible your computer is going out-- had a later model doing the same and then finally would quit.  i'd stop, pour ice water on the brain under the hood and then away we would go.  had to change it out.

SOURCE: car has hesitation at around

Hi there,

You problem is most likely a bad spark plug wire or spark plug. I would start with the wires and then chenge the plugs. Most likely you have a wire shorting out under load.

I had the same problem on my 1999 century and it was cured after replacing the wires. My 1998 Regal GS was running rough and after I replaced the wires it runs great!

Good luck!

SOURCE: 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis hesitation and jolting from 35-45 mph

Sure, the more the throttle and the longer its open the more gas is being injected so if the spark is not there it will spotter. I think you have nothing to loose with an ignition tune-up. It'll be more economical than taking it to a mechanic and still ending up with the same problem. You should change the fuel filter also it could be clogged and there is'nt enough fuel delivered at these speeds. You can also try a fuel injector cleaning solution the kind you pour in the gas tank. This might work for you.

I have a 2004 Heritage truck,starts great,but when I go about 45 mph,it starts to shudder/hesitate,but will accelerate.

clean the MAF sensor heated wires with carb cleaner or brake cleaner. It may be lean due to varnish on the heated wire inside the MAF.

2004 dodge caravan 2.4 Hesitates during Acceleration and at idele

You should definitely replace the fuel filter though this probably won't fix your hesitation. It wouldn't hurt to replace the spark plugs this is usually the culprit on these engine. I have the same engine in a '99 caravan and found the for some reason the spark plugs on cylinder 3 and 4 loosen up after one year and cause a misfire between 45 and 50 mph under load (when mildly accelerating).
