Nissan Sentra 2008. I replaced the engine...it drives fine for a short time then the acceleration loose power when the engine gets hot but drives fine after it cools off .

SCAN THE PCM YET? see DTC errors?
HOT (GOT) SPELLING CORRECTED.
HOT AS IN TOO HOT OR HOW HOT NOT TOLD
OR JUST NORMAL 200F TEMPS.
overheated answers.
  • my guess is water pump bad or RAD core tubes clogged.
  • a bad thermostat
  • not getting all air out of the coolant loop, called burping out all air, (a skill that)
  • fan dead, for engine, RAD,
  • pump belt loose.
  • we PID scan all engines to be sure ECT reads correctly 180 to 200 and above that 225 or so the fan kicks on all real scan tools can do that USA.
  • tell more proofs of too hot there are many.

02 jetta, 2.0 manual trans. EPC and check engine on. Loses power as you try to accellerate.

looses power as bogs down or looses power as the engine accelerates but road speed is not increased
run the fault codes for one and check the clutch operation ( electronics )for the other

2002 isuzu trooper looses power on climbing, not responding to acceleration

Is the transmission dropping down to lower gear when climbing ? (automatic only ) Will it accelerate good to pass on level road?
Proper fuel pressure, and possible exhaust restriction, such as partially plugged/plugged catalytic converter, are 2 things I would check as well. All provided engine is also in good shape to begin with.

Not accelerating and letting white smoke out exhaust

it sounds like the engine coolant is leaking into the combustion chambers most likely due to a leaky head gasket or a cracked cylinder head and will cause loose of power in acceleration

Momentarily Sluggish Acceleration

Are you loosing power to the ecu when the car is shut down? most cars with an ECU that controls timing, fuel, or boost can be forced to relearn the car if the ECU looses power (called a "limp" mode). I'd look into this. Also are you getting any check engine lights? considering the description of the problem, this would help to diagnose. Try getting the car started and running normally, then turn the car off but do not kill the power to the car, just stop the motor from running...Fire the engine back up and try to give the car a good stomp on the gas and see if you get the same sluggish problems...my 2 cents... Good luck future auto DIY's
