If you replace the o2 sensor and that is the problem of why the check engine light is on then yes it will reset on its own. this will take a few days of driving due to the computer running all its tests and all passing then light will shut off.
the code you have is for a bad o2 sensor or wiring to it, there are a couple of o2 sensors, this code is for the rear o2 sensor.

I would replace the bad 02 sensor and also have the engine checked for a tune up and fuel injection purge. Make sure whoever does the repairs clears the ECM memory so the light will go out. Bad spark plugs and dirty fuel injectors can cause a rich condition that a weak 02 sensor can't keep up with.

Either get a OBD2 electronic reader and clear codes or try disconnecting battery for five minutes to reset. Good luck.

sounds about right at a shop the parts alone retail for about 300 then markup, labor, diagnostic, and after run(emmisions test)
SOURCE: Lambda Sond light is on. I can replace the O2 sensor, don't know how to reset the light.
disconect battery for 5 min then reconect then start car light is now out all reset
SOURCE: This thing has been a lemon. It is not passing
air filter,, mass air flow meeter,, put injector cleaner in tank a week before its next test, but fill filter with it first,,, have the car CPU sorted out,(very pricy) change the "cat" its likley to be a duff one by now,
if all fails,,, brop mechanic a good drink to look other way when hes testing the co level???
if the engine is worn out you will never get the co level low
