Right turn signal not working on 1992 Ford Explorer Truck

Hi There,

The right turn signal does not make its usual clicking sound when I want to signal a right turn. On the display panel, the usually flashing turning arrow stays on and does not blink. Outside on the car, the lights on the passenger side, front and back also do not turn on nor flash to signal a turn. The left side (driver's side) turn signals are both working front and back.

I bought 2 bulbs for replacement, but cannot get into the space under the car hood to get into the front passenger turn signal bulb. At the back of the car on the passenger side, I unscrewed the top of the light panel, tried to pull it out so I could take a look inside and change the bulb. But there was a lot of creaking and I did not want to pull further and break something.

The car manual does not show you how to change this bulb. I am trying to find the solution on-line.

Help?

Replacing 92 Explorer right rear signal bulb

laurbeee,

As I have just seen this post I may be late in answering.

1. Open the hatch and look for the two screws on top of the tailight.
2. Take these out with a No.3 Phillips head screwdriver.
3. Pull on the tailight gently outward as the plastic inserts are what holds the lens in the body.
4. Locate the lamp for replacement and twist the lamp socket out of the lens.
5. Replace the bulb with the new one making sure to leave it clean of any oils from your hands. Twist the socket back into the lens.
6. Reasemble the lens back into the body and replace screws.

1973 ford truck has no insturment panel lights working. All gauges work but no lights like turn signal.

Check the fuses for the panel, ( usually marked instr clstr), and check the fuse for the turn signal, if that fuse is ok, then change the flasher unit, it's a small round cylinder plugged into the fuse box either silver or blue in color. The 4 way flasher is shaped the same, make sure you get the right one. Turn on the 4 ways, listen for the clicking at the fuse box, which ever one is not clicking is the turn signal one.

2003 Ford Explorer Sport rear turn signal acting up

if it's only the rear turn signal that does this, check the plug where the bulb snaps in. if loose or bad connection to bulb, it will sometimes work and sometimes not. if its both the front and rear turn signal bulbs, could be the combination switch. these were common failures on fords

The ford explorer sport track. Will have a short either at the plug of the multi-function switch or 6 inches down where the column bends the wires during tilt.

You changed the hazard flasher or the turn signal flasher? It has two, one for the hazard and one for the turn signals

LEFT TRAILER TURN SIGNAL DOES NOT WORK

I'd get a 12vdc test light if you don't have one already & start from plug, and keep probing back from there. It may be as simple as a bad connection under truck where joined into harness.
