Hot wire starter you can short out ignition switch and wiring. to jump starter ignition switch start postion.you have to run 10 gauge jumper wire from the starter solenoid positive battery terminal to starter switch or S terminal on starter solenoid this procedure take two people but better remove starter replace starter solenoid. trying jumping off starter on camaro would be dangerous you have jack up car to get to starter and wiring person laying under car hot wiring starter while other person hold ignition start position put person under car in deadly position just remove starter have auto parts check it out first replace starter or solenoid if either bad. easier hot wire starter if starter under hood like my 1977 vega monza had starter at top could take long screw driver jump starter off.on the four cylinders engines back in the 70s. camaro starter under car dangerous trying to hot wire not a good idea.

theres a simple tool available, a remote start switch. it clips on. then the technician gets clear, stands beside, makes sure its in park, blocks a wheel, and presses the switch

oh yeah! he first cleans and tightens the connections, verifies 12.6v is available from the batt and installs the battery ground connection last for electrical safety.

After starting my 91 camaro the starter enguage wheel won"t stay pulled back out of the way. How do I fix this?

Replace the starter you will or have damaged the starter drive and could ruin the teeth on the fly wheel. The spring has gone bad in the solinoid or the shaft thats is activated magnetically is dirty and sticking, ther could be a problem with the starter switch but that is less likely than the solinoid.

I have a 91 camaro 3.1 V6 has spark fuel and power to the injector but wont start just wondering what it could be

sometimes it is the ecm which is the computer that goes bad and can no longer sends signals to the starter to turn over. sometimes could be the firing order or timing. check these things out.

I have a 91 camaro rs i put a starter in it it wont start. the guy i got it from made a new key at a chevy dealer i think why wont it do anything. ty john

If the key turns, that's all it needs to do. Check, with a test light, to see if you have power to the starter. It could be a dirty loose battery cable, or a faulty cable, or a fuseable link in the positie cable that is gone. It could be the ignition switch itself. Not the key and tumbler, the switch on the steering column. You'll have to do some checking.
