If you here you the compressor running from the rear driver side wheel and it doesnt stop you have a hole in the tubing or a problem with the air ride shocks. If there is zero noise 20 seconds or less after you start the vehicle you have bad air compressor for the air shocks

We had the same issue with our 2006 Denali. "Service Ride Control" came on and we quickly found that the air ride compressor needed replaced. After watching a quick YouTube video on how to take it out and replace it, I bought the part for $260.00 online and replaced it in less than an hour with only a socket wrench! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7LvtKnO9oQ

The very best/most reliable thing to do is.... replace the air suspension with conventional coil springs. They sell kits to replace the suspension. This way you want have to worry about replacing expensive components or having future problems. These air suspension systems are expensive and problematic, so if yoi are not attached to the air ride in your vehicle, just get rid of it. Coming from a mechanic that runs into this all the time ;)

Hey Jonathan - I replaced my air suspension system with conventional springs a couple of years ago when my compressor went. Any way to reprogram the computer to tell it to stop giving the "Service Suspension System" warning on startup? GMC Yukon 2007 SLT

  • Jonathan Hayman Feb 05, 2015

Hi Matt, try reading over and trying this method I found on this forum. Let me know if thisgets rid of the message!

Where is the air compressor for the ride control on 06 gmc denail

Ride control compressors burn up because of leaking air line or shocks. Replacing compressor won't last long if you have a leak. Most of these units are mounted under floor near rear axle.

Location of fuse box/panel for 2004 yukon denali xl

There are 2 fuse panels in the Denali.
One is a panel on the drivers side, its on the dash but facing the door.

The ohter is under the dash and above the pedals, this one is much tougher to access.

Your Owner's Manual should tell you where the fuses are that you need to access.
