Accidentally jammed a civic key in my prelude's ignition. Played around with it and finally got the civic key out. After that incident, the remote does not work anymore. It doesn't lock or unlock the car. Thought maybe i might have done something while trying to get the civic key out and stuffed up the locking system. if anyone knows how to fix it, pleas help. Thanks!

sounds like the drivers side key switch has failed remove the interior door panel and there will be a switch attached to the back of the key lock cylinder or around there it should be two or three wires also check the door jamb wire harness where the door closes for any broken or damaged wires, use a vot meter and see if you get power or ground to the opposite side of the switch when you use the key to lock and unlock the door if nothing changes and there is power or ground! at this switch i would replace it, i don't think there is one but if the car has a passenger side key hole try to unlock the car from that side and see if you get the same problem -jeff

I have the same problem. The battery in the remote was replaced, still cannot operate lock. I can operate the balance of the door locks from the inside, except for the drivers side. I manual have to push or pull the door lock.

drivers central door locking module is kaput and needs flinging as far as you can then replace it with a new one or a salvaged one

Hi I wonder if you can advise me ,my central locking and alarm is very unreliable it keeps making a beep before the ignition goes on and clicking,it sometimes sets the alarm off,Ive had the AA round and theyve told me the car battery is dead, which I appreciate, but think the key hub central locking or alarm is running the battery low does the hand held button need a new battery,or can I take the fuse out for the central locking, dont want to pay 66 quid for a new battery if I can pay 2 quid for a new battery for the central locking button,or demobilize it
