Honda prelude remote central locking

Accidentally jammed a civic key into my prelude ignition. after a while of struggling, finally got the wrong key out and the prelude key in. after that, the remote does not lock or unlock the car anymore. thought maybe i must have done something while trying to pull out the wrong key. How do i make the remote central lock work again?

SOURCE: Car Alarm

sounds like the drivers side key switch has failed remove the interior door panel and there will be a switch attached to the back of the key lock cylinder or around there it should be two or three wires also check the door jamb wire harness where the door closes for any broken or damaged wires, use a vot meter and see if you get power or ground to the opposite side of the switch when you use the key to lock and unlock the door if nothing changes and there is power or ground! at this switch i would replace it, i don't think there is one but if the car has a passenger side key hole try to unlock the car from that side and see if you get the same problem -jeff

SOURCE: 2001 Honda Civic door lock

If there is nothing jammed in the barrel, you will need to pull apart the lining of the interior of the door, disconnect the power motor for that switch, then see if it locks by key, sounds like the motor is seized, of out of allignment, easily fixed with a second hand or reco motor, or witha simple adjustment. Good luck, hope it helps.

Resetting 1998 honda civic remote control

ok here is the porcedure that i have for it

Remember , these steps must be preformed within 5 seconds of eachother also all doors should be closed, radio and lights turned off

im not sure what you mean by a bypass, you can always just not use the remotes and go into the body control computer and turn off keyless entry

1) Unlock Doors
2) Turn ignition key to "ON" position (II)
3) Press the "LOCK" or "UNLOCK" button on the remote
4) Turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position (0, I)
5) Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position
6) Press lock or unlock
7) Turn key to off position
8) on position
9) lock or unlock
10) off position
11) on position
12)lock or unlock - doors should cycle to indicate successful programming. If you only have one remote, turn ignition to off or don't touch anything. if you have 2+ remotes, go to 13:
13) lock on each transmitter that you need to program

*Steps 2-12 must be performed within 5 seconds of each other. Step 13 can be performed within 10 seconds of step 12.

Central locking not working with key. Can hear locking motors using remote but does not actuate door locks.

try to check your door lock/car alarm fuse if still good.
if it's still working you have to check the driver seat door if there was no parts of your power door broken.
