My Wife didn't notice the Support beam for a parking cover, and snapped off the driver side mirror. I bought a replacement, but apparently my connector is for an older style mirror that they don't make anymore. the connector on the old mirror and my car is a 5-prong connector with white plastic, and is laid out in a line. the connector on the new mirror is a 3-prong in a black plastic square.
Is it at all possible to buy an adapter, or solder the connectors together?

Go to the web site discountautomirrors.com. I just bought a complete passenger side mirror assembly from them, already painted the correct color for under $20.00 plus about $12.00 shipping. You would then have to install yourself (directions are on the internet...just google it) or have an auto technician put it on for you.
You can replace it a couple of ways, my wife broke my side mirror with a paint ball gun, so I just cut a piece of mirror and glued it in the holder. Worked great for years, Till I found a new mirror, and took the real glass out and snapped it in the holder. But you can remove the holder by taking off the plastic cover inside the car behind the mirror, unbolt the holder and hang on to it, it is heavy. You might have to pull the door panel to get the wire disconnected. Then you can either replace it or work on it easily. Hope this helps.
On the inside of mirror pop the triangle plastic piece off. remove connector...remove the three screws while holding mirror and remove it. Reverse to install. You can do it.
Most mirrors have a removable cover just on the inside of the door. If you look closely where the mirror meets the door on the inside should be a snap in place cover or three screw holes with snap in covers that you remove and then use a screwdriver or small socket wrench to tighten the screws or bolts.
On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle,
arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the
panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want
to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to
get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel
and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and
disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can access the bolts that secure the mirror onto the door
