95 toyota 4runner running bad. can not figure it out.

1995 toyota 4runner 4x4 3.0 v6. had hesitation when accelerating. and has some loss of power. i did tune up(oil+filter, air filter, fuel filter, sparkplugs+wires, cap+rotor, coil). no change and getting worse. idling rough and wants to die and hesitation getting worse. i bought a mass airflow sensor(7 terminal vane airflow sensor).now the car does not want to start. have to press a lot of gas. when it starts it idles good.when i try to rev it it sounds like its flooding and pops though the air cleanr. if i rev really slow i can get it to about 2000rpm's after that flooding and poping. if i hold it right before it cuts out i get a heavy surging. cant even drive it. going crazy please help!!!

A friend of mine (is right in front of me trouble-shooting this.) the code comes up for the ETC sensor for a code 22. Only happens when the engine is warm, the toyota tech on the phone (limited help, but more than they were supposed too over the phone) said it might be a sensor in the transmission. The timing is fine, and the compression is fine, the sensors we found weren't exactly the same but the plug was, just not the wires for it, but neither worked. bot other than that, its the same problem the above person is having. We'll keep searching though and keep it posted. Good luck!
It goes up to about 30 mph then all of a sudden loses power, and almost like its running out of gas, or the cat is blocked (we checked that too) but it lunges forward and back, slowing to about 15 mph..after about 300-400 feet it gets back to where it was and is normal for the most part.

Check the timing and compression of the engine. It sounds like you either have a blown head gasket or a the timing jumped.

1991 toyota 4runner 3.0 v6 cuts out under load

Could be maf or tps. Here are some test procedures:

Volume Air Flow (VAF) MeterOPERATION This component is used on 22R-E, 1FZ-FE, 3VZ-E and 3F-E engines.
This meter measures the amount of air flowing through the intake system. It is used by the ECM to calculate air/fuel mixture.
TESTING 22R-E, 1FZ-FE and 3VZ-E Engines
See Figure 1
Disconnect the wiring from the VAF meter.Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between terminals E2 and VS. Resistance should be as follows: 3VZ-E-200-600 ohms

3d23f7f5-25ac-415e-bb30-8a2de44707c6.gif
Fig. 1: Attach the ohmmeter to terminals E2 and VS

If the test is not within specification, replace the unit.

Throttle position sensors are usually mounted on the side of the throttle body. The sensor detects the throttle valve opening angle. The voltage of terminal VTA increases in proportion of the opening angle of the throttle valve. The ECM judges the driving conditions from the input signals of the terminals, and uses them as one of the conditions for deciding the air/fuel ratio correction, power increases and fuel cut-off control. 3VZ-E and 1FZ-FE Engines
Confirm that the throttle valve is fully closed.Connect an ohmmeter to terminals IDL and E2. E2 is the bottom terminal, while terminal IDL is positioned directly above it.
Insert a 0.020 in. (0.50mm) thick feeler gauge between the throttle stop screw and lever. Check for continuity between terminals IDL and E2 of the sensor. Continuity should be present.Insert a 0.031 in. (0.80mm) thick feeler gauge between the throttle stop screw and lever. Check for continuity between terminals IDL and E2 of the sensor. Continuity should not be present.

The car will run fine for about 10 minutes then it will stop accelerating???

ENGINE HESITATES WHILE ACCELERATION

LOSS OF ACCELERATION

It can be fuel pressure issue or it's the problem with accelerator pedal or its clogged filters causing there.

There are many other possibilities. I suggest you to go through the list of help links mentioned below, these will help you to confirm where the actual fault lies: -------

I drive a 1991 toyota v6 camry le and i can find out why it doesnt have any power (slow acceleration speeds) the RPMs go up to about 5k and still cant feel the acceleration in it.

1. If you have the check engine light on then the emission control could be doing this because of bad oxygen sensor(s).

2. Check the transmission fluid. If the level is low then the transfer case would not transfer all the power from the engine to the transmission.

1990 4runner V6 3.0L Manual. Loss of power on any incline, hesitates(jumps) when slowing down or speeding up from a low rpm and makes a weird squirrely ticking sound when excellerating...help me?!?!!

Do a major tune-up on the 4Runner....new spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor. The ticking very well could be from using a poor grade of gasoline, however, not necessarily the octane. This is also known as pinging or knocking. The tune-up may help this as well. Try a quality grade of gas, Shell, Exxon, Chevron, Texaco, Mobile etc....

1996 4runner is missing when I accelerate and has some hesitation and loss of power. It has 144,000 miles and I changed the timing belt and water pump at 140,000. A mechanic is looking at it right now and...

Check the fuel pump and filter. This can cause a loss of power and hesitation. I doubt it is the spark plugs unless it started doing it right after you changed them.
