The correct radio SERIAL NUMBER is required for a code

It usually begins with M or V followed by SIX digits ...such as M654321 or V654321

Sometimes pressing buttons 6 & 1 together or 6 & 2 will display this number

Otherwise remove the radio from the dashboard and post the SERIAL NUMBER found on a label on the casing

Unfortunately without the code the radio cannot be activated and you will need to go to a ford dealer to access the code if it is still in their system for which there will be a fee charged. Every radio has its own individual code. You will need to supply them with the vehicle details including the Vehicle Identification Code (VIN).

When you disconnect your battery and then reconnect itagain, it disables the radio. This is an anti-theft protection for your carradio.
The enable your radio the activation code is in your vehicle owner's manual. Ifyou do not have this code you need to go to your Ford servicecentre and get them to enter this code for you.

you don't mention the year of the vehicle, however, must modern vehicles have an anti-theft / tamper with their radios etc. Removing the battery drops the code in the memory of the radio and it will not operate when the power is restored.
Check your vehicle's doc's for the info on how to re-code the radio.

If the code is not at the back of your manual, try 0000 and if the radio locked it self from taking any more codes. Just disconnect the battery and that will reset the radio so you can re-enter the code. If 0000 did not work then log on to Radio-code.com, you can get your cod there for like $12.00 which is cheaper then the dealer and you get to know the codes as most dealer will just unlock the radio. In your manuel there is instruction to unlocking the radio and you may have the code's written in the back. If it does ask for a code try 0000 and if that does not work try logging on to www.radio-code.com.
They can give you the instruction and codes you need to reset your radio. If you have a good relationship with the dealer they may be able to help you out too since they are always disconnecting and changing batteries.
