Backed the jeep out of my steep driveway slowly heard a loud bang. I thought I hit a car. Got out and checked...I didn't hit anything. Put the car into drive was going 15 miles and heard a clank. Stopped...drove again going 30 and heard another clank. Took it to the auto repair and they said nothing wrong with it. Picked it up from the auto shop and on the way home clank/clank/clank. Drove it back to the dealership and he went for a drive with us. No clanking. At a lost since the repair guy doesn't see a problem yet my car is doing random loud clanking noises from the rear.

It sounds like you have some **** in the gas tank that is being drawn to the pickup blocking it.
Have seen this and because it seems so random, it can drive ya nuts.
You might carry a coffee can with you and pull the line from the fuel rail when this happens stick it in the can and just have someone turn the key on for a few seconds.
Beware though, it comes out with force.
Also possible is a failed fuel pressure regulator.
Those aren't expensive and . . . well, not very good either.
SOURCE: 1996 jeep grand cherokee ltd problem with transfer case because of different size tires
You should have the same size tires in the front and back. By having 2 different sizes, you are changing the gear ratios between the front diff. and rear diff. You could wipe out the t-case especially if it is full time 4wd.
SOURCE: Oil pressure light comes on after driving on highway for 10 miles
Sounds like your sending unit sensor - if it was your pump going out, your engine would be history by now. Rule of thumb, if your oil check light ever comes on, it's usually too late to remedy the problem. You have a major issue, but since you've obviousely drove it quite a bit since then and it still hasn't seized up, I'm guessing you're ok...for now. Since you took it to a shop and they said you're ok, I'm assuming they checked your level and visually checked for leaks and found nothing. Either, you've got somethijng partially blocking your pick-up tube for the pump which is in your oil pan, or a electrical issue with the sensor. I would start by having someone check the sensor out and go from there...good luck.
SOURCE: 1990 jeep wrangler rear end "bang" noise then jeep would move,
I had the same thing happen. Your rear drive shaft u-jount is bad. Also wnat to check the level of gear oil...
Replacing the u-joint takes about an hour to do... not a tough job.

may be the gears in the rear end or check your motor mounts, ive had the noise and it was motor mounts
