6-Disc CD Changer is not working

Today, with the sound system in radio mode, I switched to the CD player but there was no response. The digital display was off and the eject, numbered CD changer, and track change buttons were not responsive. In summary, the radio works, the CD system does not.

Should I reset the system by unhooking a battery cable? Is there a fuse that needs to be replaced? Did I set the five-year self-destruct button for my CD system and now it's hopeless?

I appreciate your help:)

I had the same problem. To solve it, I disconnected the battery and then the cd system reset. It's working now!:)

Unfortunately most times with these 6-disc systems once it quits working it is usually time for a new unit. The manufacturers all reccomend reprogramming the radio, but this rarely does anything other than waste your time and money. Go for the new radio.

Disc will not load into subaru forester cd changer

This also happened to my 2002 WRX. I took the CD player out of the console and found a tiny spring (which I could not find) was not in its location, which would actuate the "play CD" switch inside. After a few hours I decided to reassemble the player and use it as a non-CD unit. The radio and cassette player still work, so I purchased a cassette MP3 player adapter so I can plug in my cell phone and play songlists.

I changed the battery in my 05 dodge caravan and now the cd changer doesn't work.it ''gears'' up when you turn on the power but the mode button only recognizes am and fm and not cd any fix?

sounds like a bad radio that shouldnt happen bttery has no effect on changer opperation if the radio powers up the changer should work as long as its a factory radio w an internal six disc changer.
