I would think not correct. GM vehicles of that era were equipped with R.A.P(Random Auxiliary Power) it would keep certain systems on after shutting the car off.....(lights, radio, power windows) for up to 8 minutes. Unless you open the door, that would shut everything down. So if your power is staying on with doors open, most likely one or both of the relays in the RAP is bad
the button is at the door hinge by the weather seal it takes a 3/8 wrench or a socket to remove and replace, don't let the two wires touch it will blow a fuse they are about $5 at part house good luck...
Hi, CSTY is abbrevation for courtesy lamps. They can be interrior lamps in the dome, footwell, inside headspace front and rear, map lights, glove box , door jams/panels , under hood and trunk. First verify that all your lights are going off when the doors are closed and key is off. For trunk and under hood courtesy light, use the push switch to verify they do turn off. (I've had a few under hood lights short out and do that) Next would be to remove bulbs one at a time and monitor your battery. (Painstaking, but effective) other than that, you have a short somewhere, lights in the bottom corners of the doors can get moisture and usually corrode first. Good Luck! Mike
make sure your DOME light dimmer switch is not on.If light still on the radio, then remove the 10 amp fuse for the radio. If light goes out you can either replace the radio or re-install the fuse each time to listen to your radio. there is a short somewhere causing the radio light to stay on.
i hope you do not have the dimmer switch turned all the way up. If you don't it could be the interior light pin switch. It's mounted either at the door jam area or inside the door on the door latch assembly. GM techs could use a TECH2 to check body control module functions and perform overide to confirm this.
Completely remove the dome lite positive wire from the dome lite. If that doesn't fix it, then remove the door lock harness from the back of the door lock switch. Etc, etc. It will eventually indicate which is the problem by the process of elimination. I'd try that method. Eliminate each of the remaining items, until the drain stops. Garcuda
