VW SDI MK4 turns over but won't start

Hi Last week on my way to a wedding! my trusty sdi kept on cutting out and losing power. It started up straight away to start with but with subsequent attempts to start the time between starting and cutting out got less. Now it wont start but does turn over. I have changed the fuel filter and fuel with air gaps is flowing into the fuel pump when engine is turning over. If i just turn the ignition on there is a weird buzing sound coming from the valve type thing between the air filter and air inlets. Also when i turn the ignition off i get 3 beeps from dash and oil light is coming on, I have checked oil and it is full. any advice or suggestions much appreciated

When you hook the pressure test guage to shrader valve on fuel rail what it reads is what the pressure is from pump, around 60 p.s.i. all you need to do is hook up the guage and turn on key, you do not have to turn engine over, and if pump is good it will shoot up to 58 or 60 right now.

You said you have fuel flowing from the inlet line of the injection pump? But not at the injector lines?

Sounds alot like the ignition sensor. In my old Chevys it was under the dist cap, mounted on the dist itself. Mine was flat, slightly curved rectangle shape, with two flat prongs coming out both sides. If it would get an internal break in it, you cant see it. I would have the same problem as you, part was only about $12. And comes out with unscrewing two screws.
Might want to give it a shot.

My seat belt light is on in my vw golf mk4 sdi how do I turn it off what part do I change or fix help doing my head in now

the part that you have to work on is the buckle bit at your hip. The sensor is in side there and is not sensing the belt bit when you buckle up. You may need a new part that will require the buckle to be unbolted from the floor. I suggest that you take it to a dealer service centre for checking as it may be warranty related or subject to a recall notice.

My 2007 sdi golf loses power when im driving and goes dead on me. something to do with the fuel, anyone can help?

first thing to do is put a can of redexe additive in the tank(full can to 1/2 tank)this may blow out any carbon buildup on the injectors etc.
once done, if no improvement, then get back to us.

Hi i have a whing noise coming from front passanger side wheel when turning right, i have a 2006 56reg vw caddy van (2.0 sdi) wot cud be the problem

Usually when this happens it tells the tech that the left outer CV Joint is starting to dry up from lose of grease. The rubber boot could be torn and spitting out grease. When you turn right, most of the car's weight is tranfered to the left wheel. The same thing happens when you turn left, the weight is transfered to the right wheel. Lift it up and inspect the Constant Velocity Joints inner and outter rubber boots for leakage or tearing, there are two each axle. Most of the time it would only need a new boot and repacked with high temp grease.
