I have a 1994 Honda Accord LX Station Wagon. The engine light comes on and the car will cut off. My mechanic said the code is "ignition output". My son replaced the coil but that didn't solve the problem. Any other suggestions?

I am having the same problem. I had a mechanic check on it but of course the car didnt cut off when the mechanic was driving it. The Mechanic said that it could be a problem with the distributor (not to be confused with the distributor cap that gets changed on some tune ups), that it overheats and then the engine cuts off. The engine light comes on after it cuts off. I am going to attempt a few things before taking it in for further checks.
1994 Accord coupe.
I had the same problem. The car drives fine then cuts-out randomly. It was an "ignitor" . My mechanic charged me approx. 450.00 parts and labor. That was about 6 years ago and the car runs fine.
Minus my brake light problem, but thanks to a post on this site, it should be a simple fix.
