sounds like engine need some cuddle :) I mean, first thing to do is to check engine compression ratio. If that is ok, then make sure carb adjustments are correct and all fuel lines ar clean. Good luck!
ENGINE HESITATES WHILE ACCELERATION LOSS OF ACCELERATION It can be fuel pressure issue or it's the problem with accelerator pedal or its clogged filters causing there. There are many other possibilities. I suggest you to go through the list of help links mentioned below, these will help you to confirm where the actual fault lies: ------- Jerks and Hesitates During Acceleration? http://technoanswers.blogspot.in/2012/07/2004-dodge-town-country-jerks-and.html ----------- Loss of acceleration? http://technoanswers.blogspot.in/2012/02/loss-of-acceleration.html --------- Headlights flickering and car hesitates to start? http://howtobyme.blogspot.in/2012/02/headlights-flickering-and-car-hesitates.html -------- How exactly the Vehicles Accelerator Cable works? http://repairhelpcenter.blogspot.com/2011/11/how-exactly-vehicles-accelerator-cable.html ------------- How exactly Vehicles Accelerator Pump Diaphragm Works? http://repairhelpcenter.blogspot.com/2011/11/how-exactly-vehicles-accelerator-pump.html -------- 2000 Toyota Avalon: Engine Lean Codes and Knock Sound on Acceleration? http://whatisbyme.blogspot.in/2012/05/2000-toyota-avalon-engine-lean-codes.html --------- 2004 Toyota Avensis: Acceleration And Deceleration makes noise on Front End? http://whatisbyme.blogspot.in/2012/05/2004-toyota-avensis-acceleration-and.html --------- Wheel hop under hard acceleration? http://technoanswers.blogspot.in/2012/04/wheel-hop-under-hard-acceleration.html -------- 2009 Chevy impala accelerator pedal sensor? http://technoanswers.blogspot.in/2012/02/2009-chevy-impala-accelerator-pedal.html --------- Nissan Pathfinder stalls and bucks on Acceleration? http://technoanswers.blogspot.in/2012/02/nissan-pathfinder-stalls-and-bucks-on.html -------- Acceleration lag problem? http://repairhelpcenter.blogspot.com/2012/01/acceleration-lag-problem.html ------------- These details will help. if its carberated its probly in need of a rebuild thats a easy fix a carb rebuild kit is cheap but do your self a favor and get someone that has done this kind of work before so you can have help if you need it.
You need to add a can of B&G 44K fuel additive with a tank 91 octane . This additive is the best on the market and is only available at dealerships. It will condition your fuel pump and injectors. Your problem sounds fuel related so try this first. Next cheapest will be the throttle position sensor (TPS) and the next cheapest will be Manifold absolute pressure (MAP) . Stay on 91 octane, good luck
It sounds like you may have picked up some small debris from the bottom of the gas tank when you ran it empty. You may need to run a fuel/injector cleaning solution through the next tank of gas to clear the debris and consider changing your fuel filter too. Sea Foam is a great fuel additive and I recomment trying it full strength. Hope this helps!
The most likely cause could be the MAP Sensor or if it has a MAF Sensor. The sensors are used by the computer to determine how much air is coming into the engine, and if they malfunction then when you step on the gas pedal and more air flows into the engine, the computer has difficulty trying to add the proper amount of fuel. Scan the computer for codes. If you don't have a scanner you can take your vehicle by one of the national discount auto parts stores and they will scan you computer for you, usually for free.
