My first question is for the fuel pump module, Do i have to buy a whole new fuel pump or do they sell the fuel pump module separate? My second question is can you be alittle more specific as to what to do for the p0463 please? How much would you say the module runs for?

    Thankyou

Replace the fuel pump module (inside the fuel tank) it has 2 level sensors on it. The po463 code is an open condition on the high level sensor, one sensor reports to the ECM, other to your gas gauge on the dash.

eaiser to replace the complete unit... last one we did was about $230 for the complete unit. It is more than just a fuel pump. you can see a picture of one at Rockauto.com

Sorry, its rockautoparts.com Also check with autozone,,, advanced auto parts,,,,, napa,, they all have them When you see the fuel pump module, you will know why you replace the complete unit. (pump, sensors, internal filter, sump, wiring harness are all part of the unit.

Fuel trims were in use due to fuel pump sensors/fuel pump. try 6 or more drive cycles and see if po420 will reset or clear. Drive cycles are ,,,, warm engine,, 2500 rpm,,, 6 minutes. During that time, the ecu will test at about one minute each during the drive cycle.. it may take more cycles to see if 420 will clear out on its own. The cat efficiency was degraded below the calibrated threshold ,,, might be due to the fact that the fuel pump and sensor problem triggered the ecu to change the fuel trim on the injectors. This "fuel trim" is the way that the ecu fine tunes the engine to current conditions over the base fuel injector pulse. Its the ecu learning what is happening to the air/fuel ratio and over serveral cycles it will change the A/F ratio to suit. It may take a few driving cycles for all of this to even or clear out. Hope this helps,,,,,,

Quickest and most cost efficient way to replace a 2007 Chevy Malibu 4 cylinder 2.2 L fuel level sensor

Here is just one seller of the part Aaron, but Quality and Low Price don't normally go hand in hand. It is always better to go with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) which is this case is probably AC Delco. You can go cheap, but balance the cost of time and patience putting it in against changing it every year or two.

Fuel gauge drops down to low fuel even when full on my 2005 Chevy Malibu

sounds like a bad sending unit. if the check engine light is on and you get a code of p0463 then you have a bad sending unit.

My gas guage is not work right

Most likely the cause is a bad sending unit. If the check engine light is on and the code reads p0463 you have a bad sending unit. Malibu is known for that.
