A power light blinked a couple times before car stoped. Engine didn't overheat Oil was fine. coolant level fine. The only thing I can think of is that I was very low on gas.

I need more info. Any trouble lights come on? Was it low on oil? Was the engine overheated? What was the coolant level? Were you towing at the time? Give me all you know and I can give you some ideas what it might be.

If by power light you mean the low voltage light then you could have a bad alternator. If your alternator isn't producing 12 to 14 volts then your engine ignition will be running of of your battery. It will do this untile the battery is drained then the engine will stall. this will happen faster with the lights on.

03 suzuki grand vitara starts up in morning after 10 minutes its warm drive to town shut off wont start back starts and dies starts and dies 3 times then starts and runs till next shut off

check whether you do have a problem with your cam or crank sensor. Or the fuel pump whether when it gets warm stop working,(loosing the pressure ) These things you do need a specialist to check the sensors and the fuel pump.

I have a Suzuki Grand vitara 2.0 petrol Mk1, problem of pinking mainly when decelerating. Any thoughts on how to resolve the problem

pinking, aka, pinging, knock, and best of all detonation (truth it is)
pinging does not happen, deceleratiing ever, that is pure noise

pinging happens under load, (hills) and lean air fuel mixtures.
and a dead EGR valve.

so engine noise, buy a $5 stethoscope,
listen for exact source location
or get it serviced.

5.9 Lt 2001 dodge durango has 20 percent compression on cylinder 7, ran really luggish and engine shakes alot, was told could drive on 7 out of 8 cylinders after a couple weeks of driving it, i started it...

it sounds to me that #7 has a valve train problem, wiped cam to broken rocker arm, bent pushrod, broken spring, bent valve or burnt bad! Or it has broken ring on piston. shouldnt have kept driving, very bad idea. pull valve cover to check valve train. I would start there before going deeper into motor.

Who makes the diesel engine in the suzuki grand vitara

The 1.9-litre diesel engine in the latest version is sourced from Renault and delivers a hefty 221 ft lbs of torque for reassuring operation both on and off road. This power makes the Grand Vitara a far more versatile proposition, with even enough power to pull a small caravan if required.
