The vehicle speed sensor for the speedometer is in the rear axle housing.
The engine speed sensor is behind the passenger side cylinder head, I believe, and is kind of a pain to replace. It sticks into the bell housing of the transmission and reads the speed of the flywheel.
I had to replace both of these sensors on my 99 ram with the 318 V8.
Stop blowing cool or stop blowing anr air through the vents??? If it stops blowing cool air, check if the condenser fan is running (it should be)( on drivers side under hood, looks like a small radiator) if not take a water hose and deluge the condenser with water, if it then cools, you will need a new condenser fan assembly.
u have a loss of vacuum to the ac mode control switch, this switch applies vacuum to diff vacuum motors to move air to diff outlets, dash, floor, defrost etc. either the vacuum line or vacuum resivior at the engine is leaking or the mode control is leaking vacuum.
Sounds like you are losing too much vacuum under acceleration. Possibly a partially stopped up converter, or bad intake manifold gasket. Possibly a bad door actuator in the heater box also, and the loss of power would be a seperate issue.
Engine smoke problem-- Automatic, chk transmodulator. If oil in vacuum line, modulator is defective. Engine sucking up trans fluid. 10.00 fix . good indicator is smoking at cruising speed or deceleration.
Bad rings smoke under acceleration and bad valve guides smoke on deceleration. poor crankcase ventilation (pcv valve) will cause engine leaks and oil blowing out of dipstick. Good Luck
I experienced almost the exact same thing in a customer's 1997 Dodge Caravan this week except on this one,the A/C would be blowing cold out of the vents, directly at you,and when you put the accellerator down pretty hard, the vents would cease to blow, but you could hear the defroster door flap, and the defrosters blew cold air.Let off the gas pedal,it switches back the way it originally was.Wasn't the customer's complaint, but it did make me wonder.
YOU ROCK!
