99 tahoe will only start when bypassed

I replaced the engine, it ran fine for a while then threw a bunch of false codes, and will not shift correctly, but the worst of all is that it wont start without me bypassing the relay with a light switch to engage the starter. the tumbler sends voltage, but the relay wont engage. also the neutral safety switch does have continuity when in neutral and park.

Automatic or manual transmission ? tumbler sends voltage ??? What tumbler ? Ignition switch ,when it start position sends B+ voltage to the crank fuse in the insturment panel fuse box ,from there it goes transmission range switch,if in park or neutral it then goes through the relay pin 86 at the relay socket base . With the key in start you should see B+ voltage there . If not ,try moving the gear selector to neutral . if you still don't see B+ voltage , find the trans .range switch an check it.

SOURCE: I have a chevy 305

IIf you can unplug the neutral safety switch.Run a jumper wire, from one wire to another in the plug--in,on the wiring harness.Or to the correct wire that feeds the starter solenoid,on the terminal on the solenoid marked s, this engages the solenoid! Make sure that you find the wire that is hot with the key turned as far clockwise as it will go.This would be the starting circuit wire, from the ign switch. The other terminal on the solenoid would be for the ignition on start only, marked i for ignition. If you have Electronic ign. you wont need this hooked up.You will need a test lite or volt meter to find the correct wire with voltage. To power the solenoid. If you can not unplug the wiring you can cut the wires and soldier them together, bypassing the switch.

I have a 99 chevy tahoe 4X4 thats giving me problem.when pushing down on brake pedal it pushes back then the ABS light comes on and then the truck starts revving up and not shifting gears right and se

This could be a wheel speed sensor. The ABS module does not do a rationality test to sensors. This must be monitored by a scanner WHEN acting up as they send information to the controller which makes the decision if the car has traction or not one of the sensors is sending false data. this happens at low speeds 15 mph or less . the controller does not tag it as a bad reading because it is random even during your brake application. As for the transmission not shifting this also can be a bad sensor on the transfer case output shaft. Does speedo act crazy during this shifting problem. check for loose ground straps.

Exactly same prob.

99% of the time we mechanics tend to trust computer of what it tells us when it come to engine diagnostic; i hate to not agree with VW mech which he pull the code and state is knock sensor although I have ran into computer spit out many wrong code and still does not fix the problem however I go ahead and replace it any way. Now if that does not fix the issue after replacing with new parts, I then would go back and plug computer back in to see what other code it would spit out. my opinion, I would also have your air-mass flow sensor check, some people don't realized throttle control/airmass flow sensor also link into the ECU compute between the revolution sensor of the transmission telling computer is time to shift. faulty air-mass sensor can also cause it to bogs or not picking up speed giving a false sense the transmission is not working correctly. you can go to auto zone and use their computer for free if you need to re-pull the code after replacing the knock sensor.

Po 751 code 99 tahoe

The solenoids are located in the transmission. There is one for the 1-2 shift point, one for the 2-3 shift point, and one for the 3-4 shift point. You have to drop the transmission pan to access them.

Would not shift in to drive or reverse then lights interior flash

According to the fault code, there is no signal from the vehicle speed sensor to the OBD computer. A P1491 code is the radiator fan control circuit. I sounds like you may have an electrical problem that is causing a bunch of false readings. Have the computer reset and try again. You can get all of the fault codes at http://www.wjjeeps.com/faultcodes.htm#0500 Don't forget top rate this solution!!!
