High reving after filling my car this morning, the car started to rev extremely high and the ses light is on? what could it be?

run fault codes and check for MAF/MAP sensors and HO2S and HO2 sensors.

You need a complete rebuild most likely

the reving high is your idle air control valve ,and it is suppose to do that.have the transmission checked

Check for a vacuum hose leak

even a dealer can make a simple mistake, But since you had the car done there I would take it back and ask them to re-clear the code, if there is a problem it will pop up again, since they guaranty their work,, if it does,, have them fix the problem

May need to replace temprature sending unit. Car doesn't know it'swarm.

It would be good to know the make, year and model of the van to do a diagnosis. I'll take a stab in the dark, High reving could be caused by a faulty idle air control motor, common on a Ford. Is the Service Engine Soon light on? A malfuntioning Throttle position sensor will cause a high idle. I wish I had more info so I could be of help, Good luck, Gary

If you are wanting to lessen the high fuel consumption you must do the following.
1 - Over-Reving is a big no no. Keep the revs between 2 and 4 thousand rpm. (it is highly easy to over rev so lessen the throttle)
2 - You can buy a product called octane booster. The higher the octane in the fuel tank the better for your car. To use insert into fuel tank as you would a bowser nozzle and release amount of octane as per product intructions prior to filling up with petrol, then add petrol after. This ensures proper mixing of octane throughout tank.

Check fuel pressure regulator.

check your anti freeze and watch your temp gauge.any check engine light on.
