I have been a technician for many years and even a new motor if built properly should be able to be driven hard right from the start they are trying to blame you for their mistake don't accept that even if you have to have someone else look at it

SOURCE: Heard a grinding sound under hood. Car then died.

So does the a/c still work, maybe your compressor is bad? Top off your oil and run the engine and see if you can find out where the oil came from?

1995 nissan quest radiator fan went out going up hill and smoking

Smoking from where? Under the hood, the pressure exceeded the rating of the radiator cap and the coolant was blown into the recovery tank. It may have fillled the tank and sprayed coolant on the engine making it smoke under the hood. You may have blown a radiator or heater hose, again if the smoke was coming from under the hood. If it was coming out of the tail pipe, you may possibly have blown a head gasket.

Volvo quit running

If the smoke was white, then you've probably blew the head gasket. Check for coolant in the oil as well as the coolant level. Coolant in the oil and low coolant in the radiator or reserve bottle combined are good indication of blown head gasket.

Coolant leak from radiator and white smoke coming from the hood.

Sounds like you have blown a head gasket. Do not run the engine like this or you will seize it up . anti freeze will freeze the pistons and you will need a new engine. Hope you have not ruined it now.
White smoke is a sign of water in the piston area.

I have an XL 7 Suzuki 2002. When I drive on the freeway the car starts smoking, It is white smoke out of the front of the engine. I have had the car looked at and they don't see any issues with caps...

It\'s the tranny fluid, it comes out the blue switch on the drives side of the tranny and then spays on the exhaust and then burns white smoke.
When bad, It will only do this at speeds of 60mph + most shops will never find it and it\'s a small amount of fluid so it doesn\'t show up low when check. They need to be looking under the car not under the hood.

Hello and welcome to FixYa! If you have overheating problem, it can lead to multipleissues. You may be running on low coolant that's why the vehicle overheats. Ifthat's the case, please add coolant and make sure that it sits on the rightlevel, too much coolant can cause overheating too for coolant will overflow. The vehicle may have a faulty or worn out radiator blowermotor that's why it overheats. If that's the case then you will need a blowermotor replacement to resolve the issue. If the radiator is clogged with dirt and rusts this issueoccurs too. The coolant doesn't flow normally on the cooling system if it'sclogged. If that's the case, I strongly suggest that you have the radiatorflushed to drain out dirt and rusts. If you think that the radiator served youenough then it's better to have it replaced. Please do check the radiator hoses, If you have worn outhoses it can cause coolant leakage which can result to overheating. A tiny holeis good enough for the vehicle to overheat. A faulty thermostat sensor can cause the issue too. If youhave worn out thermostat, the fan may not trigger that's why the fan won't workwhen under stressed conditions. A blown radiator blower fuse can cause thisissue too so I suggest that you check the radiator blower fuse and replace itwhen necessary. What causes the radiator blower fan fuse to blow? It's becauseof a failing radiator blower motor, If that's the case have the radiator blowerfan motor replaced. If the fluid in radiator doesn't circulate then it meansthat you have a blown head gasket or a faulty water pump. I suggest that you gofor the water pump replacement first specially if you think that it's near theend of it's service life. Usually, water pops out the radiator when engine isreved (a sign of faulty water pump and possible blown head gasket). Hope you find this information helpful enough and thank youfor using FixYa! Have a good one!

you need to replace your heater core. it is up under the dash on that side of the vehicle. but as for the white smoke it sounds like a possible blown head gasket or a cracked head.

Cracked the head

Your may be correct about the rings. If, however there is a crack in the head gasket it may be so small that you can't see it. I'd replace thew head gasket and see if that solves the problem, before proceeding with an expensive ring job.
