I have a 2004 (bought new) honda crv. a couple of years ago i replaced the tires with the same tires that came with the car: bridgestone dueler h/t d684 bl p205/70r15 95s 40,000 mi warranty. the first two sets of tires were a perfect ride- smooth. about six weeks ago, i went in for new tires and the dealer i have always used (with free balance and rotation) suggested a 65,000 mile warranty tire: firestone 047150 fr710 ws p205/70r15 95s. i said great and left the car with them. within a few hours (and i knew it was coming) they called and said i needed an alignment. i said ok, go ahead. after a few days i called them and told them the tires rode rough with a noticeable vibration and and wobble at about 45mph and about 65-70mph. they said they were balanced to specs, blah, blah, blah, and also mentioned that they were getting use to using new weights instead of lead. they said to bring it in. i did, and after they said they rebalanced them, the ride was no better. i waited about 5-6 weeks after that and took it back to them today and left it for a few hours. when i returned they told me that they drove it and did notice the vibration/wobble. they said the problem was that ALL 4 RIMS WERE WARPED!!!! i was rather stunned and asked how that was possible and they had no explanation. i asked how they determined the rims were warped and they said they spun them at high speed and saw that they were warped. it is VERY hard for me to believe that as soon as i buy 4 new tires this warp problem becomes so pronounced. until i bought these tires i had never had any vibration or wobble at all. i have to conclude that (1) the 4 rims are warped (can't believe it) (2) one or more of the new tires are defective (maybe) (3) they don't know how to precision balance the tires (probable). i have heard and read that some tire balancing equipment is superior to others. do you agree that the problem is a "balancing" issue and not the rims and if so, do you have any suggestions?

I recommend taking your vehicle to a shop (any shop) that use a Hunter tire balancer. These machines can detect all variables that affect ride quality by not only spinning the rim, but it uses a roller to inspect the tire itself for its "road force". They can also measure the rim while on the machine for run-out to detect for a bent rim. There can be times when a tire can be mounted to the wheel in a postion that promotes more vibration, but the hunter machines can check and show the correct location to minimize the feel to the driver. Here is a picture of the kind of balancer you want your vehicle serviced at. Please let me know how things work out.i have a 2004 (bought - 7e27679.jpg

Looking for a different tire for Suzuki XL7 (2007). Currently has the factory tires Bridgestone 235/60-17 which are a strange size. Need to know if a Cooper CTS 245/65-17 will rub the wheel wells?? Any...

I do not know for certain whether the larger tires will fit; but here is how you can check.

The 235/60-17 Bridgestone Dueler H/T D684 II have a diameter of 28.3 inches, rim width of 7, section width of 9.3 and a tread width of 7.8. When compared to 245/65-17 Bridgestone Dueler H/T D684 II the diameter(29.5) is 1.2 inches larger and the section width(9.8) is 0.5 inch larger. The rim width and tread width are the same. You would need to check existing clearances and then compare to the additional size required to verify fitment.
The above data is from TireRack (see web address below)
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.jsp?make=Bridgestone&model=Dueler+H%2FT+D684+II&tirePageLocQty=

Tire Rack carries 5 different tires from 3 brands(Bridgestone, BFG, and Kumho) in the 235/60-17 size at $66 to $119 each. I have bought many tires from them without a problem. They do not carry Cooper tires.
