you have a fuse for it ,check the fuse box ,it might not say trunk on fuse panel, you might need to pull those fuses out one by one checking each one to see if blown, if the center between the two sides are broke the fuse is blown, hope this helps you, thanks robert b.
SOURCE: Power locks, power windows and trunk won't open
try disconnecting the battery for few minutes, then reconnect and try.ps: make sure you know your radios security code before disconnecting the battery.good luck
SOURCE: my 2001 vw bora's trunk won't open. Lock turns and
if you insert the key in the lock and turn it alittle further the boot should open.the noise you hear is the actuator moving, but the plastic rod to open the boot is probably brocken.
SOURCE: 2006 Jetta 2.5 trunk latch operate when really cold
you need to remove the trim cover on the inside of the trunk lid. it sounds like the solenoid is jamming. the solenoid should flick out against a lever that will release the trunk lid and then return back again within a split second. if it stays out then it is jamming, and thus holding the truncks locking mechanism open.
the solenoid may also jam shut and therefor not release the lock. if you can see this happening then replace the solenoid.
