My automatic Hyundai Accent will not shift out of second gear. It is stuck in 2nd like I am climbing up a giant mountain... My check engine light is on just had the transmission re-built in 2010. When accelerating it goes super slow I have to put my gas pedal to the floor and lift up slowly to go normal speeds. I try to trick the gears by going into lower gears and driving it like a manual, or pressing the overdrive button... Nothing works :( Please help!!
Having the transmission rebuilt in 2010 means that the tranny is 7 years old since service so there can be any amount of faults
run the fault codes to check for problem TCM, VSS, servos and solenoids
check the vacuum actuator for the transmission and vacuum lines
change the transmission oil
the engine light also reports on transmission failures

You need to check the transmission fluid level, if it is low the tranny will not shift. If, however, the fluid is to the proper level then you will need a new transmission.
Try putting new fluid in and look for a leak in the pan gasket, then all you may need is a transmission service. When the service is done the mechanic will look for pieces of metal in the old fluid, if found this is very bad and you will need a new tranny.
You might consider a new or used car, you can definately find a good deal out there!

the engine losing power, check your coolant level, if it is extremely low the temp gauge will not show the engine is actually hot. The tranny sounds like you have a filter that is clogged, tranny fluid thins when it gets warm and will past thru a filter that is clogged, but in the morning the fluid is thicker and will not flow thru the filter without manually shifting it

Well two of the tranny codes ; P0734 and PO732 indicate gear 2,3,4 ratio incorrect. This can be caused by poor readings at the input and output speed sensors or pulse generators. The P1709 code is in reference to the kickdown servo switch.
Replacing the pulse generator set and TCM reprogramming( as per TSB) may solve your problem, otherwise you have a major component failure in the transmission unit. I would get some line pressures at the transmission checked first.
Sounds like the transmission is in fail safe mode, this happens when there is a transmission fault, you only have two gears 2nd and reverse.

shifter needs to be inspected. The shifter assembly is got misaligned, it has
to be open and realign.
There
are many other possibilities. But if it was working right up till now and
suddenly this occurred then its shifter
assembly alignment issue.
