When the car idals its fine. When I drive it down the road after a few minutes the oil light comes on and the lifters start to tick. I turn the van off and restart it and the oil light goes off, but only to repeat the process every couple of min's.
It is a 2001 Chrysler Voyager LX 3.3, Gas not flex.
Low oil pressure check the oil press with a gauge
Your engine needs flushed .what is going on is idle has less pressure than driving and the sump is picking up dirt and debris but when you turn off or idle the debris falls off the sump.
did you say you replaced the oil pump if not it could have striped gears .?
what about the oil veins in the engine they could be clogged
it would diffidently worth a try !
auto zone will have a good flush and it will come with instructions on how to do the job im not sure but it is not that expensive.
you said you put in new bearing?
then your main bearing are what hold your pressure sorry i should have ask more questions. you will need to put mian bearings in soon probably the front one is bad

66 chrgr I have replaced lifters, push rods, and rod bearings. One rod bearing was hammared. So the oil pan has been off and i have cleaned the pan and blowed out and burned the oil pick up to clean it. Also rebuilt the oil pump which mean the pressure
relief has been changed all so.
Any more info?
I need a little more ideas on this

i ran a plastic brush all the way to the cam. If they are clogged then what are my options? Would an engine flush do good? I know dodge and chrysler have a habit of sludging up.
I have never flushed an engine myself. What would be a good product and what is the procedure? Also what are my chances that this would cure my problem?

I was thinking, If i do a engine flush and my bearings are bad then all that would do is make it worse and kill the engine. So i replaced the 10w 30 oil with 15w 40. So far the pressure is stablized. That being said then i know what the problem is. Main crank bearings are worn. Will replace them next.

Yeah thats what it is. The oil pressure dropped again but it took longer this time after the 15w 40 was put in. I have the main bearings ordered and they will be in tommorow. Ill let you know the out come of that tommorow.
also the #3 rod had a hammered rod bearing. It was mashed to about 1/2" wider in the middle of the top half of the rod bearing. That was when i changed them a couple days ago. So with all that banging around on the #3 then it would prob be the the first or second main bearing. You agree?
