I have been told to replace the Air Filter of my Land Cruiser Prado, a year 2003 120-series 4.0L Petrol model, and when I consult the owner's manual, it only talks about changing the Air Conditioning Filter on the glove box.
I always thought the air filter is under the bonnet that is near the engine where the air inlet is. So is there any difference between an Air Filter and Air Conditioning Filter? When I am told to replace the air filter, does that mean changing the Air Conditioning Filter as advised in the owner's manual?
Thanks for your help
The air conditioning filter that your manual speaks of is known as a ''cabin filter'', it is much differant then your engine air filter. It filters the incoming air into your vehicles interior. So if someone has told you to replace your ''air filter'' they are more then likely speaking of your ''engine'' air fitler. You should check your engine air filter every oil change. If it shows signs of dirt, then replace it. Hope this helps =)
Air Filters have to be chosen for your room depending on various factors. Knowing about the factors will help you to select the most ideal air filter. Air Filters as the name suggests filters the air from various pollutants, allergens and particles. By installing air filters you can breathe clean fresh air and can remain healthy and free from air borne diseases.
