I recently just bought a 2005 Scion xB from a used car dealership. It has roughly 110,000 miles on it, and is in excellent condition. I just took it in for an oil change and the only 'problem' they encountered was that the transmission fluid needs to be changed in about 3 months or so they said. They are my very reliable mechanics that my whole family uses and they couldn't seem to figure out what was happening to make the lights come on. Any input would be greatly appreciated! Also, I am in hopes of driving it to Colorado in 3 days from Tulsa, OK, and would like to know whether or not I should take it or another car!
My vcs and check engine light came on when the master cylinder was low on fluid

You need to have a code scanner hooked to the car to find out why the lights are on, if there is an auto zone or advanced auto near you, go there and ask them if they can hook one up, or call around to see who can do it.

On these cars and Toyotas also, if the engine computer sees an emissions problem, it will illuminate all of these lights. As long as the check engine light isn't flashing and it's not running funny, you should be ok to finish your trip. Keep in mind the traction control may not work if you were to get into a situation where it could be helpful. Recommend checking the gas cap to be sure it is tight, it should click 3 times minimum.

did you left your gas cap loosse, well every time check engine lite is on, your vsv lite will come on has well, if check engine lite is not flashing you ok to drive it but have some one scan it asap,j you dont want a problem getting biger,
good luck

I had the same problem. I changed my car battery and the following day when I started my car these three lights stayed on. I went about my business with the lights on but when I went to start my car the next day the lights were off. I'm confused!
Same as me, but mine came on about 65K.
Would only be covered under 60K warranty, unfortunately. Dealer informed me that they have to replace the VVTi assembly, as its sticking in the LOCK position, and is causing the Camshaft to be in an Overretard position. I'm taking mine in for a fix next Wed. but they estimate the part costs around $500 + a minimum of $500 or more in labor. Total BS that Scion did not do a recall on this part. F..k Toyota.
I have the same problem, all of the same lights are on my car. I figured the codes out and it turned out to be the oxygen sensors and the catalytic converter, the lights came on a little after 100,000 miles.. typically thats around the time a catalytic converter should START to go out.. no roughly around 112,000 miles i noticed some problems with my transmission jerking and reving at waayyyy to high of RPMs, so its a new problem i have to figure out.. if anyone has a similar problem to my new one, any feedback would be greatly appreciated
Anytime your check engine light comes on your VSC and trac is disabled and those lights come on. All 4 of you have different problems. A check engine light can be caused by many things and you need to have the codes read to get a solution.
