Im not sure of your question. ? that is a drive shaft and or propeller shaft, off fist start by saying, what you are doing? we dont know. What is the goal, ???? my guess is, removing the axle carrier from the axle housing? you must remove both axles to do that. here is a 2004 , axles being pulled. (im guessing what you are doing) http://www.fixkick.com/axles/axle_rear_R&R.html

Very easy, release the axle nut, remove the brake caliper, remove the rotor, disconnect the cable from the abs sensor, on the inner side remove the three screws and drop the yoke on your hand
How to Remove a Chevy Blazer Rear Transfer Case
The transfer case on a Chevrolet Blazer is underneath the vehicle, mounted to the rear of the transmission. On four-wheel drive vehicles, the transfer case takes power generated by the engine and channeled through the transmission and directs it to the front and rear drive axles. Over time, the gears and bearings inside the transfer case can wear and the transfer case must be rebuilt. The transfer case on this vehicle must be removed before it can be serviced.
Things You'll Need
1
Disconnect the ground cable from the negative battery terminal, by using a wrench to loosen the retaining bolt and pulling the clamp off the terminal.
2
Raise the vehicle and support with jack stands placed underneath the frame.
3
Drain the transfer case. Locate the drain plug near the bottom of the transfer case. Place a waste oil collection pan underneath the plug and use a socket to remove it. Once all the fluid has drained out, reinstall the plug.
4
Remove the bolts that connect the rear driveshaft to the rear axle yoke using a socket. Lower the driveshaft, and slide it backward underneath the rear axle to disengage it from the transfer case. Remove it from the vehicle.
5
Remove the bolts that connect the front driveshaft to the front axle yoke using a socket. Lower the driveshaft, and slide it forward underneath the front axle to disengage it from the transfer case. Remove the driveshaft from the vehicle.
Removing the Transfer Case
6
Label and disconnect the electrical wires and vacuum lines connected to the transfer case. Use masking tape and a marker.
7
Remove the transfer case shifter rod. Using needle-nose pliers, remove the clip that connects the shifter rod to the transfer case. Slide the rod away from the transfer case.
8
Position a floor jack underneath the transfer case. Raise it enough to take the weight of the transfer case off the transmission.
9
Remove the bolts that connect the transfer case to the transmission using a socket or wrench.
10
Slide the transfer case rearward to disengage it from the transfer case. Lower the floor jack, and remove the transfer case from the vehicle
You need to replace the seal for the pinion. ou need to remove the drive shaft off the pinion yoke thene you will find a big nut in the center of the yoke that has to be removed but before you remove the nut check to see if there is any kind of play on the yoke if there is play the pinion bearing will have to be replaced if that is the case your better off having a mechanic do the job. If there is no play remove the nut pull the yoke off replace the seal and reinstall in reverse order.
Instructions vary depending upon if its a stick or automatic transmission. Your best bet if you haven't ever done anything like that is to get yourself a chilton or haynes manual. Both have text and pictures to help with the job. With hanynes, you may need the transmission manual instead of the regular repair one if its an automatic...check the contents before you buy it. When doing an automatic, it's advisable to remove the crank sensor from the bellhousing as often they get damaged accidentally when working in there. If you need to remove the flywheel, make sure you mark it's position so you can put it back exactly the same way it was installed. Make sure you have a flat solid area to work on. Transmissions need to be supported so notheing get's damaged. To do that, you need a place where you can move a jack easily. If you need to work on dirt etc, buy a sheet of 5/8" plywood to put underneath.
Use white paint, chalk or a scribe to mark the relationship of the front U joint to the front diferential pinion yoke. Mark the relationship of the rear U joint flange to the transfer case companion flange. Unbolt the front end of the drive shaft from the pinion yoke and the rear end from the transfer case companion flange and remove the drive shaft from the vehicle.
hope thei info helps.

Remove transfer case shield. Remove clamp on boot where front drive shaft meets transfer case. use a flat screwdriver to pry free end up and release clamp. (you need a special clamp tool to reinstall clamp ) Remove 4 bolts at differential end that hold U joint Retainers to yoke. Slide drive shaft to rear enough to clear yoke. then let drive shaft drop so it clears differential and slide forward until it come off transfer case shaft.
for 4X4 there are two drive shafts one to the front axel and one to the rear they are bolted to the axels with four bolts and four nuts undo those and gently wiggle the driveshaft from the transfer case. make sure it is in park it makes it easier...
for 2 wheel drive same thing for the rear just wiggle it from the transmission there is no transfer case. just as a warning some gear oil or tranny fluid might leak if the car isnt level
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION CAUTION The catalytic converter is located beside the transfer case. Be careful when working around the catalytic converter because of the extremely high temperatures generated by the converter.
Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Raise the vehicle and support it safely.
If so equipped, remove the skid plate from frame.
Drain the transfer case.
Remove the damper from the transfer case, if so equipped.
On electronic shift models, remove the wire connector from the feed wire harness at the rear of the transfer case. Be sure to squeeze the locking tabs, then pull the connectors apart.
Disconnect the front driveshaft from the axle input yoke.
If equipped, loosen the clamp retaining the front driveshaft boot to the transfer case, and pull the driveshaft and front boot assembly out of the transfer case front output shaft.
Disconnect the rear driveshaft from the transfer case output shaft yoke.
If equipped, disconnect the speedometer driven gear from the transfer case rear cover.
If equipped, disconnect the electrical wire harness plug from the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS).
Disconnect the vent hose from the mounting bracket.
On manual shift models, perform the following:
Remove the shift lever retaining nut and remove the lever.
Remove the bolts that retains the shifter to the extension housing. Note the size and location of the bolts to aid during installation. Remove the lever assembly and bushing.
If equipped, remove the heat shield from the transfer case.
Support the transfer case with a transmission jack.
Remove the mounting bolts retaining the transfer case to the transmission.
Slide the transfer case rearward off the transmission output shaft and lower the transfer case from the vehicle. Remove the gasket or any old sealer from between the transfer case and the transmission.
Rear output shaft? you should only have one transfer case :) Ok so put the ebrake on. Put the truck in neutral. Matchmark the yoke to the tcase. remove the bolts that hold on the ujoint. This should drop the driveshaft from the tcase. Use an axle socket to remove the nut holding on the yoke. Tap the yoke off with a soft face mallet. pull out the felt ring. Using a seal puller remove the seal. tap in a new one very carefully. reinstall in reverse order. ensure you torque the nut to the required torque aling with the ujoint bolts.
