I Have A Seville 1990, When That Happen To Me I Got The Inginion
Replaced Problem Solved. What Is Happening Is Your Key Has A Chip And That Chip Is A Resister And When The Valve Is Not Sented To The Computer It Disengages the Fuel Pump And Than Tells You To Wait. Soon All That Will Happen Is You Will Get The Wait 3 Mins And It Will Never Start, A Good Locksmith Can Take Care Of This For You And That Will Save You Some Money. Cause If You Go To The Dealer Ouch They Will Hit You Up. But I Asure This Is How It Will Happen Cause It Is How It Happen To Me
And Sorry There Is No By Passing The Computer

Get a new cylinder put old key with chip in it. Find orange wire from old lock cylinder at bottom of steering column just under dash. Disconnect and connect new wire from new lock cyl. Get a copy of the old key for the old lock cylinder {no chip needed} to start car. Hide or mount new lock cylinder hidden under dash. Remove chip key to activate theft system.

there are no such things as chips in the car, the car needs to be scanned for service codes when you get these codes get back to me and we'll go from there, any big parts store should be able to scan the car and get the codes. don'y get ripped off,get the codes and get back to me, please rate my fix as i strive to be the best Ray

first disconnect the battery and wait ten minutes this will dis able the battery. then get a manual there are several small parts that need to go in a certain way. and for the guy that his car starts then dies sounds like your exhaust system is plugged, simple test disconnect the exhaust just before the catalytic converter and start the engine see it still dies. and the problem isn't even close to the same

replacing the ecu on most vehicles will need coding
if its qa chipped key definitely will need coding again so wont start only swing
if its a open box ecu with same ecu no then it should start first time

91 cadillac seville wont turn on state that its in theft mode microchip in key may be the problem need help what to do?????

The problem is the ign. lock cylinder NOT the key. The tiny wires have broken and you need to get the ign . lock cylinder replaced and a new chip key to fit it.

1990 cadillac seville wont start, it say starting disabled, what can i do to try and make this go away?

sounds like your going to have to replace the ignition tumbler,that is if your key has the small chip in it mounted in rubber,if you would like to disable it for good you can just buy another cylinder with key and plug it into the harness under the dash that runns up to your current tumbler and just put the key in the on position in the new tumbler and just tuck the whole thing up under your dash and the car will think the key is in the ignition and disable the alarm and your normal key will just start the car as normal,hope this helps

1990 Cadillac Seville car won't stArt fuel pump is new injectors are new tune up is done but car still don't turn on but when I Use stArter fluid it turns on fo a second or two

does it have the chip in the key!!???if so the problem is in the ignition switch! there are two small orange wires that break off! on the coloum!

87 seville wont start everything is powered, doesnt have factory key, just had one made and the security or theft light keeps comin on everything gos off when you turn the key, no sound from the starter...

Your car is equipped with the VATS security system. Cars with this system need a key with a "chip" in it to start the car. A regular key won't start the car because of the security system. A key from the dealership is needed to start any GM car with the VATS system.

Cadillac seville won't start

I've got an even cheaper and easier solution, instead of buying a new cylinder, find that plug and snip the orange wires going to the old cylinder.Then remove the resistor chip from the key and solder each of the the wires to each side. this will fool the car into thinking the correct resistor chip is in place, allowing you to use the original key or any copies with or without resistor chips. i just did this to my caddy and it roared to life! :)
