Electronic Throttle Control IndicatorThis is the Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) Indicator symbol. This light, a lightning bolt between reversed brackets or parenthesis, will illuminate if there is a problem in the electronic throttle control system. It may be seen in red or yellow/amber. As an electronic system, it can sometimes be reset by restarting the car, much or exactly like re-booting a computer.

well it told you it needs service, so ??????
no such things short start issue, on gas engine car is it gas>
or is this a diesel engine, no engine told and is an engine question
the users guide told you what those lamps means.FOR SURE.
lost the guide,? (it is free for ours here in USA)
stop guessing wild things, like grounds , or spend eternity doing nothing useful, we do tests to find it and use tools
our jeep is 3.7L gasoline engine, (aka Petrol) goT that?
we have grand Cherokee here the same engine and know it well

if yes that means throttle by wire is failing and is common./
best is post photos of error lamps (noT CEL we know what that )
page 224 in your users guide told you it means ETC failed
TBW jeeps name is electronic throttle controls, and engine power is greatly reduces when failed, on all cars made with this, and al newer car ARE./
CAUSES ( THROTTLE BODY BAD OR THROTTLE PEDAL BAD)
THE PCM SCANS TELL YOU WHICH ONE IS BAD. IF YOU SCAN.


scan the PCM first/ see that is wrong, that is what CEL means
scan me NOW, or guess wrong 10000 times.

GOT THIS BOLT, I HAD TO GUESS BUT HERE IS OURS/ USA.

You need to take it to a shop and have it scanned so you know the t-case fault codes (transfer case)

I would say it is the warning light for the electronic throttle control which you had cleaned.
The description should be in your owners manual.

The service reminder is supposed to be cleared when you service the car. If your car is almost due service it and clear the service reminder. The light will go.

the lightning indicator is for problems with electronic throttle.

I'm not 100% sure what it is but you can find out yourself. Turn the ignition on (but don't start the car), and Watch all the lights that will come and stay on for a while. If you don't find any other light like the one you have on, resembling a servise light, THEN it would be your check engine/service light.. Good luck

symbol for lightening bolt is the charging light,manual ??you jest these cars are a law unto themselves and most mechanics run when job sheets are handed out for one of these.But when it runs what a tool ,i have a 94 4ltr sovereign ex chauffers car ,mercedes and big yanks move over ,now where are the porches and ferraris for a burn on the motorway .

Take throttle body off, clean Throttle Body with Carburator cleaner. I had same problem and its the ethynol in fuel that creates a build up in the throttle body which creates this problem. I did what a friend of mine said to do (service manager at Dodge Dealership) it hasnt happened again.
