Car misses at idle speed

As i was driving my 99 jeep grand cherokee 4.0 on the expressway about to accelerate to change lanes the car would not take off. I would step on the accelerator and it would not go faster. After I slowed down the car was working fine, but it happens on and off.

I fixed it myself. After I pulled the fuel pump out I had found that one of the rubber hoses had somehow come loose from the metal line it should have been clamped too. After pushing the rubber hose back on the line and re-clamping it the vehicle runs great. Always the small simple things!

I've got a 1996 jeep grand Cherokee with the 5.2 v8 fuel injected Holley throttle body. My problem is while driving at soft or low acceleration it accelerates fine, but if you hit the throttle hard it

I would check the voltage on the throttle portion sensor with the engine off from idle to wide open throttle. If there are any dead spots, replace the sensor. If the tps checks out, you should check fuel pressure. If you have good fuel pressure, you may want to make sure there isn't a lot of slack in your timing chain. I don't believe you mentioned the mileage of your vehicle. Best of luck.

Motor surge at constant driving speed

Acceleration is defined as a change in speed, either a negative acceleration (slowing down) or a positive acceleration (speeding up). If you have constant speed, you are not accelerating.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a '97 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0 liter that won't idle

Check your throtle postition sensor. It monitors what postion the throtle is at and sends that info to the ecm. It will go bad and cause that problem.

99 Jeep Grand...Idle up and down and now a check engine light

Sounds like an air leak somewhere after the air filter chamber. With engine idling spray some carb cleaner at different areas along the intake hose and the intake manifold, any place air can get in.If rpms change you have found leak.

Idle prolem could be a dirty throttle body or sticky air idle control motor.
If the Jeep is a 6 cly. the adjustment for the belt is the power steering pump.
If the Jeep is an 8 cyl. the tensioner is on the pass. side of car.
