SOURCE: My front driver side brakes are sticking. the

99% of the time that is caused either by the slides on the caliper being frozen with rust or the rubber hose between the body and caliper has an internal failure and is keeping the caliper applied. Less common is the piston in the caliper being rusted or an abs system that has gone bad.
Personally I'd bet on the hose.

Testimonial: "It was the hose! A $12 part was all that i needed to fix it. Thanks!"

Hi 2004 Chevy Avalanche 1500 4WD. The front drivers tire sounds like it's rubbing on something. Swish swish, swish, while moving. It doesn't sound anything like the hub bearing. There is no metal noise...

You should be able to spin the hub and see if the brake rotor is warped. If it is, it will make a scraping noise on one part of the rotor. Also there is a dust shield that may have gotten bent and could be rubbing on the rotor. If there is no noise, have the tire and rim checked for being out of round or needing balancing.

Something is rubbing on my drivers side tire

Explorers have a bad rep for brake calipers getting stuck. Which in turn can ruin your rotors. Do you hear a grinding noise when you stop or a clicking/squeeking noise when hit your brakes? If so check the brake caliper and the rotors. If the rotors are rough they may need to be turned or purchased new ones. Sounds like a brake caliper to me though. Hope this helps!

I have a 2004 Chevy 4x4, regular cab, Z71

Check the dust shield on the brake rotor's. There known to warp due to the heat of the brakes and will rub against the brake rotors or rim it self. Good luck and hope this helps, the other thing to that would create the squeak is low brake pads indicators rubbing against the rotors and it's time for new brake pads.

Front end squeaking possible rotor rubbing something.

Have you checked the metal clips that olds the brake pads in the front galiper bracket. They usualy rust, break loose and come in contact whit the disc, creating a squeaking noise. Those should be replace since they are needed for the brakes to work properly

Noise from drivers side

hi how are you.there is a couple of things that will cause a rubbing sound.if it is a high pich sound then look at your dust cover behind your brake rotor.a low pich or a growling noise check your wheel bearing/hub assembly.with wheel off the ground wiggle it side to side and up and down you will have alot of play.or there is something hitting the tire.

Front brakes replaced and then heard a loud bang

A noise like that in brakes are not something to guess at, or play around with. Call the place that did the brake job, and explain to them what happened. My guess is that they will come to you, or advise you to very carefully bring it to them for a look. Might have been a stone wedged or something but don't take the chance, have it looked at, a.s.a.p. and don't drive it if you don't have to until then.
