Check to make sure your Volume is turned off. you did not say if the POWER is not there.
Check to see if you burned out a fuse
Test the Radio with applying power, if you apply power and it still does not work, then you are going to install a new aftermarket Radio and be grateful for it later.
Some Radio's have a FUSE inside, you could have also an Inline Fuse.. Check the Power at the Fusebox FIRST... then work your way to the Radio.
It could be a 1 minute fix

I didn't mean to give more information but thought it was a search. So I have a 99 Chevy Venture and I had to have 2 cracked head gaskets replaced so the battery was unplugged to the radio. When I picked up the car the readio wasn't working. The mechanic thought it needs a code but the readio won't turn it's like there's no power. Do I need a code or is there something with the fuse?
