How do I change a blend door actuator on a 97 Ford Expedition

Lonnie. This is a hard job but heres your answer. I have done this twice myself but it was for heater core replacement the blend door is connected to the heater core assembly. Go to youtube and search "ford expedition heater core replacement". This video is outstanding the guy who made it points to all the hidden screws and bolts. It is an all day job just getting to the heater core. You have to drop the steering column and take off the whole dash to get to the door. both times i did this it took me 2 days. One day to disassemble and the next day to assemble. If you take to dealer be prepared to spend between 900-1200 dollars. The climate door only cost about 20 bucks. God bless you and keep me posted.

Need to replace heater core but don't know how can you help

This differs greatly from car to car, some simple, while others require removing the entire dash unit. Simple answer is check a parts store shop manual to see which type yours is.

Where is the heater core located on a 1999 F250 4x4 crew cab V10 Gas Super Duty? I was told under the hood and I have been told access is in the dash. Two very different costs to get fixed.....

Heater core is under the dash, the dash will have to be remove to replace the heater core, you will also need to have the a/c system recover, evac, and recharge if the system has freon, when this repair is done, this is about a 10 hrs. job.

How long does it take to replace the heater core

This depends on how hard it is to get to your particular vehicle style core. Some vehicles require to rip out the entire dash, others may be exposed. For an exposed heater core, I've done it in about 30 minutes to an hour...for the dash destruction add in about another hour or 2.

I was just told that my jeep needed a heater core and it would run around 700 is this something i can easily fix my self?

It depends on how handy you are. Heater cores can be a b@#$# to replace, you have to take half the dash apart. That's why it's so expensive, it's labor, not parts.

On the other hand, an '04 shouldn't need a core already, that's something a 10 year old car needs. Get a second opinion.

  3. Unplug any and all connections on the lower half of the heater box and remove the lower half of the box should be about six screws you should see the heater core and the evaporator core.
  4. Heater core skinnier of the two should have one or two straps holding it in remove the straps and remove the core and replace.

Replacment of heater core on 01 chevy S-10

Have replaced my heater core in my 2001 regular cab 4wd in december 2009. Had to pull the complete dash including the complete metal dash behind the dash that you see. Also had to remove the right passenger side inner fender well to acess the remaining two bolts that hold the heater core cover to the firewall. Its an insane job to do but the repair shop books call for 9 1/2 hrs to do the job. I'm not an expert but this is what it takes.
