The way i have my cd player hooked up it works fine and saves my settings but i have to manually cut the cd player on and off. and the way im doing this is hooking my 12v memory to my battery that's the reason it won't cut on and off withe the car. Ok if i hook it up like it is supposed to be it cuts on and off with the car but i have to reset all my speaker settings ect. so i don't think the stock 12v is yellow.
SOURCE: My problem sounds similar to the one you had.
TJ. I have been through probably every type of problem you can have with my security system on my 2002. From what it sounds like to me in your situation is this. What happens over time is if you or the previous owner has many keys on there key ring it pulls the ignition key downward and over time it wears out the tumblers in the ignition switch witch if not lined up correctly after the key has been entered into the switch the security system will automatically take over and it will not start. I had the auto start removed even thoe it was not the problem. Who ever wired it in should have been slapped. Another possibility is that the car is not reading the chip in the key properly, prompting the security system to kick in. I hope this helps. Its very frustrating to sit in your work parking lot after everyone else go's home. Good luck, let me know how it comes out.

SOURCE: 1989 cadillac seville!!! cooling fan fault ???
I have one of these cars that had that problem. I fixed mine with a new fan control module. The fan wires can be hooked up backwards to the module when you replace it too. I have a service manual on this car and can answer most questions as I have helped a lot of people with this year model. I will look at which fan should be pluged into where later. You should never straight wire a cooling fan as this will result in other problems because the engine will not come up to normal temperature resulting in poor fuel mileage. This could result in a exhaust converter and o2 sensor failure due to a rich fuel mixture. Reply and I will get back to you asap.
SOURCE: if you try to start
These cars are notorious for failed ignition switches (tumbler) . Your lucky that the key still turns because they usually fail when your far from home. What happens is you can"t cycle the key. Sometimes they get stuck and you can't remove the key. Usually always when you have a security issue its a little wire internally to the tumbler that breaks. You should have a code to indicate this if the security light is on
