SOURCE: saturn shifter linkage

An easy fix would be to go tothe Junk Yard and pull off the parts you need .......in order to do this though I would advise getting a Haynes Manual (VERY VERY HELPFUL BOOK) for your car...Available at your local Auto parts Store (even if you dont do it yourself you should still get the book...it can save you a lot of time and money when it comes to knowing and working on your vehicle)

SOURCE: saturn sc 2 seatbelt fuse

The fuse is in the center console, left side of passenger footwell. It is labelled PREST. for passive restraints. Possibly check the restraint module located in the center console, just under the E-brake lever.

SOURCE: saturn shifter linkage

The bushings on ebay work from what I understand, but a bit pricey. The bushing in question is a P.O.S. for sure. Easy fix though if you have tools and time. First I drilled out the ball that the end of the linkage, the one your faithfull broken bushing use to ride on. popped a 3/8 inch bolt thru the drilled hole, put a piece of 3/8 inch heater hose "cut to length desired" over the bolt ( this is what the linkage ring rides on ) put a rubber gromet or rubber washer that has a hole big enough to fit over the heater hose on each side of the linkage ring ( oh and dont forget the lube - regular grease will eat rubber so use good judgement). put a washer big enough to keep your gromet or rubber washer from falling off, and then a lock nut, and I cannot stress the fact that it has to be a lock nut. DO NOT tighten the living **** out of everything, that little linkage ring is plastic after all just tighten it "lightly snugish" and just make sure your lock nut can't be un-tightened by hand. I hope all of this makes sense, anyway total repair cost- one hour of my time, about $4 of parts at the local auto parts store. best of all, it should outlast the car. Oh fyi, I used rubber parts because that is less likely to break the plastic linkage ring. Showed what I did to a mechanic in town, said now he actually knows what to do next time one of those f-ing saturns comes in with busted linkage. Good luck fellow "manual" saturn owners!

SOURCE: 2001 saturn sc2 gets code 341&340 camshaft sensor

if you have high resistance in secondary ign. system (plug wires, ign.coil) this will cause this code to set. make sure you are using a high quality spark plug wire set. not from autozone!!! and denso non platinum tipped spark plugs. also use a diaelectric grease on plug wires to keep moisture out.

SOURCE: Shifter loose-Not the infamous bushing maybe broken cable

I have been suffering from the infamous deteriorated bushing for about 18 months now. Until now, have fixed it with tape. But I want to sell it now and need something more permanent. Anyway, I went to a junkyard today and managed to pull off the entire shift cable in about 1 hour. I'm a novice as well. A few clips at the transmission, pulling the bushing off at the gear shift. Hardest part was getting it through the firewall without totally destroying the rubber. If you have questions, e-mail me at [email protected]

Take out the console, look on youtube for instructions, examine bushings where the shift cables connect to the bottom of the shifter. If you see a broken bushing buy a kit on ebay for about 20 bucks and you can install it in less than an hour. This is a very common saturn problem. If the bushings are good you are looking at new cables, they are much cheaper through advance or autozone than a dealer, if you can still find a saturn dealer.

The shifter/transmission on my manual 5 spd 1999 Saturn SL1

This just happen to me a few weeks ago. If you take out the center piece in the car you should be able to see that the actual shifter is no longer connected to the rod which goes into the transmission. It is an easy problem to fix, however it is not cheap. I was told that you have to buy a complete new kit($250.00) for the shifter, however my dad gave me a different solution. He took some wire, and made a spider web type thing to keep it connected. On my car it was a small round plastic piece that broke, but I cannot remember what it was actually called. This little piece is not available through Saturn by itself, only through a complete kit. Please ask questions if this is not clear enough. Thanks :)
