I have a Land Rover Freelander V6 2.5, auto, X-reg. All of a sudden the heating/fan switch has stopped working, completely. None of the 4 speeds work. Gets a little cold and misty inside at this time of year.
Checked the fuses under the bonnet and all are OK. When selecting any of the speeds though the AC light does come on so the switch is doing something, just not turning the fan on. Will plugging it into the diagnositcs computer at the local mechanics help? Any ideas please?
U need a Freelander Blower Fan Speed Repair Kit
go on e-bay Item number: 160320517862
Yes it could be the fan resistors that have gone, but it is usually just fan speeds 1 and 2 that go, not all of them, so you may need to trace the power all the way through the resistors to the motor.
if it is the resistor pack then this video should help, it is doing the job on an MG Rover, but the same pack is used and similar location I think.

Thanks mate. I'll give it a try. However this kit says it fixes the speeds 1 & 2 on the switch. None of my 4 speeds are working. Will this still be appropriate?
Hi how did you fix your heater as my switch only works on speeds 3 & 4.... Cheers
Just had the window all the way down and now it won't go up again.
I have checked the fuses. I have pulled the fuse to the rear viper and I have also disconnected the battery.
None of the above fixed my problem.
I can hear that there is connection between the switch and lift when i push "down" but not "up"
What causes this and how do I fix it?
