I own a Mazda 2003 Tribute LX V6 3.0L. The other day was driving along and all lighting went dim. The car would not go over 10 MPH before it started making some awful noise like somethig was rattling around. (ABS) light came on and all others went dim on dashboard. radio went off. Fortunatley was only around the corner from home and was able to get it back and park it. Battery was replaced in 12/08. Alternator was checked and replaced with a new one. Battery was tested and found to be good but with Low Cranking Amps. Battery was replaced under warranty. Test drove car after replacements good for about 15 miles before the same scenario happened. Car cranked after about a 30 minute wait and seemed normal, but within 2 miles I had the same scenario and car had to be towed to house. Any ideas where I can even begin looking for the source of the problem?

i had my alternator changed twice and my battery changed. it was the cord connecting the battery TO the alternator that was bad. After over 1k, a simple cord was to be changed.
