I have a flashing dashboard airbag light in my 2003 Toyota Avalon. It's been a problem for over 2 years. The entire airbag system has been replaced by Toyota, but the light keeps on flashing intermittently. Any ideas what might be the problem?
Try wiggling wires under the front seats ,if that dont work then take the builb out
I have the same issue (03 Avalon XLS) where the air bag light comes on/off at times at varying levels of brightness. What works for me is gently bending the center dashboard console just above the clock up for a few seconds by hand and it goes back off. I suspect the problem everyone has to be something with wiring or shorting in the dashboard area itself, but hope this helps someone have working airbags in their car and saves a life.

Same here! The dealer cleaned a plug under the front seat a few years ago and the problem stopped for a while, but the airbag light sometimes flashes intermittently on cold days. When I tap the light sharply with my fingers it goes away. My guess is that it's some kind of loose connection behind the dash and not a problem with the airbag itself. But the car is waaay out of warranty and I hesitate to pay for a wild goose chase at the dealership!
