Has a new battery this occurred after car was found to have a low battery and would not start. jumped the car and it started but dies after 10-20 seconds. replaced battery same behavior.
Make sure your positive and negative hook ups from both cables to the battery are completely clean, has no corrosion on them, and that they are tight. It sounds like the cables have corrosion on them

If it's not your fuel filter plugged , or fuel pump malfunction, then it is probably your Mass air flow sensor, or your coil pack etc. You'll have to see if you have spark or fuel first. One of them is missing.

Could be your alternator. If you can get it started again. Try to have the alternator checked out.

if you have a multi meter disconnect positve battery terminal and put red wire to battery and black to battery cable put multi meter on resistance should be 0.005 or less if more then check for things that may be plugged in to cig lighter etc turn door lights off etc dont turn key on any more than 0.005 will drain battery

turns out that the fuel gauge was not reading correctly. we towed the vehicle to a garage a few blocks away. When we got there the car had been jostled and was in a different position. It started on the first try and took 15+ gals of fuel. Seems like the battery death was a separate issue resulting from the seat belt retractor's parasitic draw. (fuse 7)
