Chevy equinox 2006 Brakes Grinding, Pulsating, and Resisting

Chevy equinox 2006, when I put pressure on the brake pedal it starts making a grinding noise, and starts pulsating, and there is a lot of resistance. I just had new brake pads installed. The ABS and Traction Control lights won't come off. What's going on with this car???

Rotors could be one problem.Check fluid level.Who did the brakes.Abs is sensor which is in hub bearings .Could be bad.

I have a 2006 Chevy Equinox also and I have had the same exact problem with my abs brakes but I have been lucky and have avoided a couple of accidents. I purchased it about four months ago and suspect the dealer knew about this problem when I bought it. No one has been able to tell me what the problem is but has indicated that I need to take it to a Chevy dealer.......gwmorgan

SOURCE: ABS and Traction Control Light On

Because the brakes were changed, either one of the sensors were broken when removing brakes or it has set a code. Go to your local autoparts store and have them reset the code. See if it comes back on. If it does you will need to look at the ABS sensors on each wheel and replace if damaged

SOURCE: The pedal is pulsating occasionally and there is a

check fuse and relay-check the wiring and connections to the abs sensors for damage and the connector properly connected to the clip behind the rotor the drivers side is the most common one to pop out of the clip the clip is part of the abs circuit also part of the t/c system if good have truck scanned at an auto store some such as auto zone/ advanced auto scan for free the code will give u a start point

could be a warn front hub bearing. this is real common . new hub should come with the abs
wheel speed sensor. jack up car and safely
support , rotate tires and listen for noise ,
also attempt to wigggle/ move wheels and
see if any play

SOURCE: I own a 2003 Monte Carlo SS and it is currently in

sounds like a wheel bearing, the abs/traction control sensor is inside the bearing as the bearing gets play in it the sensor is pulled further and further from the ring gear also when the bearing has play it can collapse the caliper leaving a space between the rotor surface and brake pad which means a soft pedal quick repedative pushes on the pedal might make it improve slightly as your pumping up the caliper also the bearing will make a roaring sound that gets louder as you pick up speed with the wheels hanging down tip the wheel top to bottom and see if there is play but not every bad bearing will have play you can feel hope this helps good luck

Binding on front brakes

CAR BRAKE PROBLEMS

It can be issue with master cylinder or the problem is there is still some air there in the system that has to be bleed. Or else the parts replaced are not aligned properly/.I suggest everything back.

Why is brake warning light is on

It can be issue with master cylinder or the problem is there is still some air there in the system,that has to be bleed.Or else the parts replaced are not aligned properly/.I suggest everything back.

2006 chevy equinox brakes seem to be locking up. the brake pedal gets hard and the vehicle does not stop there is a pulsating feel in the brake pedal alost as if it is rubbing on something. no warning...

same problem we bought ours a few months ago thinking we were getting a good car but have had nothing but trouble with it for the last 2 months. same thing our abs light came on along with the tracktion control light and the brakes get really stiff with the pulsating. i have read that it could be a bad pigtail wiring harness to the computer. i will tell you one thing i will never buy another chevy." bummed out in bellingham wa".

Front brakes grinding

sur it is a grind and not like the ABS is going off which could mean a sensor is bad or dirty .more like a pulsating growl
